Submitting Content Our goal is to keep the family connected. Not everyone is on Facebook and not everyone wants to share their personal lives of Facebook with distant relatives. You may be thinking that their is nothing extraordinary going on in your life, but sharing the everyday things is very important as well to keep us all connected. No one understands you more than family and to lose that connection would be heartbreaking. As much as we love to hear about the grand moments, the simple ones are just as heartwarming. Whether it be the tree you planted is finally producing your favorite fruit or your kids enjoying a day in the park, we would love for you to share. You are also welcome to share old stories, have a funny family story? We would all love to hear it. We specifically ask that you share births, firsts, graduations, weddings, death and other big moments. If you have images we encourage you to share. We would all love to see how your family has grown. Submit content by emailing Cindy at email@example.com. The deadline to submit content for the next issue is May 20, 2013. Letter From the Editor Hi Family, Well once again summer is upon us and the kids will soon be out of school for summer vacation! I think of summer as a fun time for families, with so many opportunites to do things and go places with the kiddies. I would like you to share those summer memories in our newsletter, just e-mail your stories and pictures to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Remember, you don’t choose your family. They are God’s gift to you, as you are to them. A message to all who are graduting in May “Set out each day believing in your dreams. It’s Springtime in East Texas

About thirty minutes north of
where we live is Texas’ largest azalea garden. It’s maintained by the students at Stephen F. Austin State University. What a wonderful place to have class. We visit in the spring and recently drove up there and got caught in the rain. We didn’t even make it very far out of the car before it started sprinkling. Since I had my camera and equipment it was a mad dash back to the car, and we barely made it. We waited around several hours and for the weather to clear up. I’m really glad we did because I ended up with these really magnificent photos.

I was born on July 24 1980 in Crowley, LA. I was born 2 week early around 11 pm. An early memory is… I was standing inside mom and dads house by the front door and watching the neighbor’s house burn and my uncle running to help with the fire and to look for people. Early memories of celebrating Christmas is… going to my grandparents’ house were they put up a fake fireplace and open up gift with them. Early school memories I have is… I remember make friends and my best friend and the last day I seen him with third grade ended and he moved away. Family vacation I remember are… going fishing and camping. Later going to my aunt’s house. My first paying job I had was… I cut my grandfather's grass and his mother's grass. I also cut some other yards for him. Longest employment as an adult is… Mike Hooks Inc. for 12 years, the first 6 years as a oil worker, the last 6 years as a engineer. My education consisted of… High school and an accounting bachelors degree. Special memories of my LeJeune/Hines grandparents are… Going to see my grandmother Mimmie at the nursing home & pushing her in a wheelchair down the hall. I am a member of… North American Fishing Club. If my house caught on fire, and I could go back to retrieve something (assuming all people and pets were safely out), I would choose… Grandmother’s crystal glasses. If I could give advice on how to live a happy life, I would say… Trust in god and go with the flow. Anything else I’d like my family to know about me… In a few months I may be a chief engineer the same job dad had on the same dredge.

Crawfish Pizza Recipe
Ingredients • 1/2 cup each chopped green pepper, onion and green onions • 3 garlic cloves, minced • 1/3 cup butter, cubed • 1 pound process cheese (Velveeta), cubed • 4 ounces Philadelphia® Cream Cheese, cubed • 1/4 cup mayonnaise • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce • 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce • 1/2 teaspoon each cayenne pepper, pepper and Cajun seasoning • 2 pounds crawfish tails, cooked and peeled • Oil for frying • 10 flour tortillas (8 inches) • 2 cups (8 ounces) shredded Mexican cheese blend or cheddar cheese
Directions • In a large skillet, saute the green pepper, onions and garlic in butter until tender. Reduce heat to low. Add the process cheese, cream cheese and mayonnaise; cook and stir until melted. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, parsley, pepper sauce and seasonings. Cook until slightly thickened. Add crawfish. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 10-15 minutes until heated through. • Meanwhile, heat oil in a skillet. Fry each tortilla for 1-2 minutes on each side or until browned. Drain on paper towels. Spread 1/2 cup crawfish mixture on each tortilla. Sprinkle with cheese. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 4-5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Yield: 10 servings. • Note: Two pounds of cooked salad shrimp may be substituted for the crawfish. Reduced-fat or fat-free mayonnaise is not recommended for this recipe.
