What is the Leicestershire LINk? LINk stands for Local Involvement Network. This is a national initiative and there is a LINk in every local authority area. The LINk is a way of giving people the power to improve the health and social care services around them. The LINk is a network of networks, joining people together to have their say on how services are run. The Leicestershire LINk will work closely with the health and social care services that the people of Leicestershire use, including services across county boundaries. We will also work in partnership with LINKs in neighbouring counties. There are separate LINks for Leicester, Rutland, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. What is happening in the Leicestershire LINk The Leicestershire LINk is in a transitional stage, getting itself ready for a launch in the new year. The LINk has a Transitional Steering Group that will be in place until March 2009, when elections will be held for a LINk board. A host organisation, the CVS Community Partnership, has been appointed to help create and support the LINk.
