School Reform: Is There Common Ground?

The 2015 Distinguished Lecture Series of Lehigh University’s College of Education will feature Diane Ravitch, an educational policy analyst and historian of education. Ravitch will present “Reign of Error: The Hoax of the Privatization Movement and the Danger to America’s Public Schools” at 7 p.m. on Feb. 10, 2015, in Baker Hall in the university’s Zoellner Arts Center. Ravitch, a research professor at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development, is a former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Education. As Assistant Secretary, she led the federal effort to promote the creation of voluntary state and national academic standards. She is a blogger and author of several books, including The Death and Life of the Great American School System: How Testing and Choice Are Undermining Education. Tickets go on sale Nov. 3, 2014.
