FOR CURRENT & NEW FAMILIES 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR

UPDATED: AUGUST 30 2021

WELCOME TO LEGACY

BILL MCGEE

HEAD OF SCHOOL

Dear Fellow Eagles: Welcome to the 2021-22 school year at Legacy Christian Academy! We are delighted to partner with you in the education of your children, and we look forward to helping you shape their spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and physical well-being. We rejoice and look forward to a return to “normalcy” during the 2021-22 school year. One feature of normalcy at LCA is a return to in-person learning, supplemented by frequent in-person events and activities where we gather as a community to bond and enjoy fellowship with one another. It’s all part of our core value of building covenant relationships “that foster mutual support, respect, and commitment to the welfare of others.” We are pleased to offer this guide to serve as a handy reference in your journey with us. It should answer many of your questions and provide direction as "Eagle Nation" takes flight for the new school year. Please note that more information is forthcoming this summer, and we will be updating this publication with additional releases. Thank you for being an important part of this special community of believers who seek to advance God’s Kingdom by educating and preparing his children to be strong leaders with biblical convictions. Together, we will Thrive@Legacy.

Faithfully yours,

Bill McGee Head of School

"WE LOOK FORWARD TO HELPING YOU SHAPE THEIR SPIRITUAL, INTELLECTUAL, EMOTIONAL, AND PHYSICAL WELL-BEING"

IN-PERSON LEARNING Where Relationships Best Happen Since our founding in 1999, relationships among students, families, teachers, and staff have been at the heart of Legacy. We believe relationships happen best inperson, and for that reason, we are thrilled to exclusively offer on-campus learning for all students during the 2021-2022 school year.

CLASS SIZES For the 2021-2022 school year, LCA intends to return to typical classroom capacities. Note that average capacities do not necessarily reflect actual class sizes, which will vary based on overall grade enrollment and course interest.

2021-2022 Average Class Size Pre-K 3 - Jr. Kinder.: 14 Kindergarten: 16 Grades 1-4: 20 Grades 5-12: 22 *In grades Pre-K–Grade 2, capacities may increase by two with the addition of a full-time teacher aide in the classroom.

Parents and special guests sit at tables closest to the microwaves. Please send silverware in your child’s lunchbox if needed. No microwaveable food please. Pack a HEALTHY snack everyday that is ready to eat and labeled as SNACK. Appetites usually go up at the end of the day (protein & healthy carbs).

Water bottles Please send a “pop top” style water bottle labeled with your child’s name each day. Please do not send bottles with screw lids or a large opening as they tend to spill easily over tables and floors. Brain research indicates that water is essential to the learning process.
