Car Wash Event Local businessmen Steve Corbin and Tom Boyd are great supporters of this country’s military. This year their annual Memorial Day Car Wash will once again offer the Ultimate Wash for just $8 for all active military service members. As an added expression of gratitude to fellow citizens who serve unselfishly in rolls that contribute to this country being a free and safe place, they are extending this special to all law enforcement personnel both uniformed and in support roles, all fire and rescue personnel and all emergency services personnel (EMT’s and support). An attendant will be at the Culpeper Car Wash at 618 Sperryville Pike from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. or later if required. Rainout date is Tuesday, May 31. Please be prepared to identify yourself to attendant. Be prepared with cash. Credit cards cannot be processed at this event. “We look forward to providing this benefit and express our sincere appreciation to all,” said owners Steve Corbin and Tom Boyd.

As you drive down South Main Street near the 7-11, the splash of color that is created by the flowers of the Shenandoah Garden Spot immediately grabs your attention. The selection there is always so well kept and visually appealing. For the last two years Kori Phelps has been a big reason that everything looks so nice. She works hard to keep the plants healthy and presentable. I watched her assist some elderly customers with their questions and purchases. She was very helpful and patient. Kori is so friendly that I am sure she would enjoy it if you just stopped by to say “hi” and browse. ➤ Check out Rich’s blog at facesofculpeperva.blogspot.com and Faces of Culpeper on Facebook
