The screens for Taipei Lobby are derived from the idea of combining impressionism and the sublime of the site’s waterfront park and adjacent gas station. The public lobby space of the multi-use office tower is outfitted with a wrapping pattern allowing for varying levels of transparency, while bearing the logo of NPC bank. The design readily engages Taiwan’s emergent fasicination with technology. The screen wall was tested in etched glass and laser cut aluminum panels.

Tomihiro, an artist who lost his hands in a machining accident and paints with his mouth and feet is commemorated in this small museum. The superimposition of the landscape forms sequential gallery spaces from a continuous ramp whose persistence is broken by the road. At the top, the ramp meets the glass facade whose broken connection to the elevation of the hillside beyond forms the identity the museum as a transparent monument cut away from the landscape.

A non-wooden beach house house on the waterfront in Seagirt, NJ is designed to optimize sf, resulting in a facetted steel roof with glazing, protective concrete curtain wall and custom glazed ocean side facade. The house will be a residence away from the city where both father and son will house their families. We found this bond both interesting and congested in 4800sf, so the fractured geometry both suggests separation within the box-like massing and multiple angles deviating from the strong beach orientation.
