What happens next? Key dates 31 March 2017 If you apply to Leeds Trinity University by 15 January, you should receive your offer by 31 March. 4 May 2017 If you applied before 15 January and you have had all your university/college offers by 31 March, you will need to reply to the offers by 4 May 2017. 27 May 2017 You will need to apply for Student Finance by the end of May 2016 to make sure you receive your finance before you start university in September.

Decision time

It’s now decision time, so we’re here to guide you through your next steps:

4) Insurance acceptance

1) Attend an Applicant Day

Your insurance acceptance is your back- up to a conditional firm acceptance. You’ll only attend your insurance choice course if you don’t meet the conditions of your firm choice, but you do meet the conditions of your insurance choice.

2) Make a decision on UCAS Track

If you’re choosing an insurance place, go for something with lower offer conditions that you’d still be happy to go to - that way, if your results are lower than expected, you might still meet the conditions at your insurance choice.

You can’t choose between your firm and insurance places when you get your results, so make sure you’re happy with which is your firm and which is your insurance choice before you reply.

Before you make your final decision, make sure you attend an Applicant Day. It’s your best chance to get an in-depth taste of your course and university, which will help you make the right decision.

Once you’ve received offers or decisions from all the universities/colleges you applied to, UCAS will send you an email to let you know there’s been an update. You then need to go to Track to reply to each offer. You’ll have a deadline for this in Track - how much time you have depends on the time of year, varying from one to five weeks.

There are three types of reply you can make - firm acceptance, insurance acceptance and decline.

3) Firm acceptance

This is your first choice. If the offer is unconditional, the place is yours and the university/college will expect you on your chosen start date.

If the offer is conditional, the place is yours if you meet the entry requirements when you receive your exam results.

5) Decline

Once you’ve made your firm and insurance acceptances, you need to decline any other offers you’ve received.

6) UCAS Extra

If you haven’t received any offers from your choice of institutions, or decide to decline all your offers, UCAS Extra allows you to add an additional choice to your application. UCAS Extra is open from the end of February to the end of June.

I love the way the University is smaller than others and therefore there are more one-to-one opportunities with your tutors.

I’ve met my best friends at Leeds Trinity. The Students’ Union provides so many opportunities to meet new people and to do things you might have never done before. :)

I love the great opportunities Leeds Trinity University has given me over the three years I spent here. And now I am in a brilliant job, thanks to the skills and experiences I have gained and developed.

The community vibe throughout the university makes it an experience you wouldn’t get from other universities. I liked the vibe so much I wanted to work here after my degree and now I do.

Thomas, graduate

Antonio, graduate
