Mrs. Mathews stated, “Missouri FBLA had 3 destination options for the Show Me Leadership Conference. One was at 6 Flags in St Louis. One was at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City. And the final one was at Silver Dollar City in Branson. Our chapter chose Silver Dollar City because it is closer, and it would save our organization some travel money.” FBLA is looking forward to growing their organization in the years ahead and attending many more fun-filled, educational trips.

business.” Chase Hale, the FBLA president stated, “At the Show Me Leadership Conference we got to hear from a Silver Dollar City marketing representative about the business aspect of the company. We all took a leadership test to

analyze our leadership skills. Afterwards, we got to enjoy the rides and attractions, as well as the food. There were three students and Mrs. Mathews who attended the trip. Mrs. Mathews explained, “It was a great time! I

think more students should try to attend next year. The more people that go, the more fun it will be. We’re really hoping to grow FBLA over the course of the next few years, so hopefully our turnout for trips like this will grow right along

FFA members honored on Parents’ Night ABBIE RUBLE

CONWAY CHRONICLES On Tuesday, Nov. 5, the freshmen and sophomore students celebrated the first of many successes these students will have. Receiving their Greenhand Degree is the first opportunity to receive medals in the FFA. All FFA members and their parents, as well as community members, and school staff, were invited to attend Parents’ Night. The purpose of Parents’ Night is to award first year members their Greenhand Degrees and second year members their Chapter Degree. In order for students to receive their Greenhand FFA Degree, they must meet some of the following qualifications: Be enrolled in an agricultural education and have satisfactory plans for a supervised agricultural experience program (SAE). They must also learn and explain the FFA Creed, motto, salute, and FFA mission statement. There were 27 freshmen who received their Greenhand FFA Degree.

“I was excited to receive my FFA Greenhand Degree this year. I love being involved in the FFA and all the people that come with it. I loved being able to receive my award and have not only my parents there, but many other community members. I plan to work hard so I can hopefully receive my FFA Chapter Degree next year,” stated freshman, Troy Replogle. During Parents’ Night, students Reagan Perryman, Breanna Thompson, Gracie Vestal, Sarah Reed, Emily Twyman, and Cooper Mullins stated the FFA Creed. In order for students to receive their Chapter FFA Degree, they must meet some of the following

qualifications: Must have received the Greenhand FFA Degree, have participated in the planning and conducting of at least three official functions in the chapter ’s program of activities, and show progress toward individual achievement in the FFA award program. There were 26 sophomores to receive their FFA Chapter Degree. “This year is a memorable year because for the first time in Conway FFA, all eligible members received their degrees. That speaks volume about the quality of the kids (and their families) we have in the Conway Agriculture Program!” stated advisor, Mary Ann Keck.
