FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 29, 2012 Public Relations Campaign Club to Host Pancake Breakfast to Benefit River Valley Child Development Services HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The Marshall University Public Relations Campaign Club will host a pancake breakfast to benefit River Valley Child Development Services, Saturday, March 31. The pancake breakfast will be from 9 a.m. to noon at Huntington’s Kitchen, located on 3rd Avenue across from Pullman Square. Student volunteers from the PRCC will be joining Huntington’s kitchen in cooking the meals and serving guests. For just five dollars, guests will receive two old-fashioned buttermilk pancakes, locally produced sausage links, fresh fruit, and juice. All proceeds from the pancake breakfast will go toward River Valley’s T.I.P.S. (Tuition Investment Program Support) scholarship program. The T.I.P.S. scholarship program helps low-income families afford quality child care. RVCDS has been assisting families since 1971, and is considered to be one of the top child care facilities in the Tri-State. It serves more than 8,500 people each year with more than 140 employees. Nearly 75 percent of the staff members have earned college degrees. The pancake breakfast is one of several events PRCC is hosting this spring to benefit RVCDS. Page Pitt School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Marshall University working to improve their skills as public relations professionals. As such, the students work as a professional agency to aid real organizations in promoting themselves and fundraising.
The Marshall University Public Relations Campaign Club would like to thank Barboursville Kroger and Huntington’s Kitchen for donating food and other materials necessary to make this event possible.
