Leadership Greater Huntsville 2021-2022 Impact Report

IMPACT REPORT

2021-2022

Mission-focused. A strong volunteer base. A cohesive team. All represent characteristics of successful nonprofit organizations. Yet, the ability to adapt, from my perspective, represents the testament of strength and the true measure of success for an impactful and sustainable nonprofit. As I begin my third year with Leadership Greater Huntsville, I am continually reminded of our organization’s strength and adaptability by the increasing caliber of programming provided to our area leaders, the impact of our small group projects that Flagship and Connect produce and the never tiring commitment of our volunteers in spite of ever changing constraints. I greatly appreciate the time and dedication of our alumni and commend them for continuing to serve LGH and the Greater Huntsville community. Headlines and checkout lines persistently remind us that each day can bring challenges to nonprofits, and LGH handles their share of challenges by drawing on the strength of our staff, the resourcefulness of our volunteers and the guidance of our alumni and board of directors.

Going forward, we have an exciting time here at LGH. On the following pages we have outlined a few of the key takeaways from the work our team and partners like you have been involved in over the past year. We hope that you will find this information inspiring and come to the same conclusion that we have—that we are only just beginning to scratch the surface of what we can do when we all work together to build a stronger, healthier, more prosperous Greater Huntsville.

As we focus on FY2022- 2023 and beyond, we remain grateful for the support that allows us to continue to push the envelope and to take our city, and its leaders, to the next level. Thank you!

As we grow into the 2022-2023 year of Leadership Greater Huntsville, we continue to sharpen our focus and deliver excellent programming that will inspire, educate, identify, and connect our community leaders. A single idea conceived this organization. An idea that required powerful communication, cooperation, and commitment. We are now the bearers of that idea! We will powerfully affect our region with a sense of cooperative resilience, driven by our dedicated volunteers, sponsors, trustees, alumni, and staff. We welcome every opportunity to share and to develop meaningful conversations that improve our region based on our vision and our mission. We believe this is the best year ever because we believe in the people surrounding us: yesterday, today, and tomorrow!

– Taron Thorpe, 2022–2023 Board Chair
