2017 LCC 2017 Annual Report & Alumni Directory

Dear Community Leader: On behalf of Leadership Centre County (LCC), it is my pleasure to share the latest edition of LCC’s Annual Report & Alumni Directory with you. Our annual report and directory introduces you to the most recent graduates of our program along with our corporate sponsors/program volunteers and alumni who have graduated from the program over the past two and half decades. It has been an incredible year! Leadership Centre County graduated 48 class members. We are pleased and proud to launch these new leaders in the community. Once again this year we incorporated an “intentional small team” approach that we called “the Juntos”. “Junto” was a word selected by Ben Franklin for the small groups of citizens he organized and brought together routinely to provide a structured form of mutual improvement. His philosophy was in line with LCC’s mission and vision so it seemed most appropriate to follow his lead. These small groups had time on each program day to get to know one another, discuss important issues relevant to the program day topic and plan their Junto projects. The members of the Juntos were drawn from diverse occupations and backgrounds, but they all shared a spirit of inquiry and a desire to improve themselves, their community, and to help others. The structure brought incredible energy to the whole group – end of day de-briefs were very dynamic and the groups produced several AMAZING projects. We have included a summary of their projects in these pages. For your convenience, an online version of our alumni directory can be found on our web page. There you can peruse the listing of more than 877 enthusiastic and qualified volunteers by areas of interest, skills, residence or class year. This alumni list is a quick and simple resource for you to use when searching for volunteers to serve on committees and boards of directors. I sincerely hope that the 2016/2017 Annual Report & Directory and the LCC website will both be useful tools for you and your organization. I also ask that you consider the following: •

If you know someone who might be interested in becoming a future LCC class member, please contact me or have the potential candidate call me. You can also nominate someone online at http://leadershipcentrecounty.org/apply/nomination-form/.

If you know of an organization that is searching for board/committee members or volunteers, please have them contact me as well. I will place them on our mailing list, send them a copy of our annual report & directory and the link to our online directory, and help them match their needs with the interests of our alumni whenever possible. Also please let them know about our Transformational Leader Series programming.

Thank you so much for your support – we believe integrating LCC alumni into organizations throughout Centre County is an important step in building a great community for today and tomorrow. Respectfully yours,

Georgia Abbey, Executive Director Leadership Centre County P.S. Those who assembled this directory have done so to the best of their ability; if your contact information in the directory is incorrect or missing entirely, please be sure to send any changes to us as soon as possible. THANK YOU!
