Commercial buildings that use energy-efficient lighting can get assistance, and modern lighting systems come equipped with motion-triggered occupancy sensors that shut lights off when the last person has left the room, even temporarily. People focused on a quality construction job for a home they expect to live in for a long time have been using green techniques long before there was a word for it, he said. “Some customers want to build green,” he said. “Others just want a good-quality home.
