Alcohol Serving License Green Ginger servers and bartenders must be at least -18 years old and must have a current alcohol serving license. You must obtain the license through the Peachtree City police department. You may apply for the license Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. It takes at least 24 hours to complete a background check and your license can be picked up on Tuesday between 2:00 and 4:00 or on Thursday between 9:00 and 11:00. The cost is $25.00. You must bring a COPY of a current driverâ€™s license; they will not make a copy for you. Payment must be made by check or money order; they will not accept cash or credit cards. Sexual Harassment Policy Sexual harassment of any kind will not be tolerated and is grounds for immediate dismissal. Sexual harassment can be a continuing pattern or a single incident of unwelcome sexual advances, requests, or demands for sexual favors, physical contact of a sexual nature, and verbal abuse or threats of a sexual nature under any of these conditions: 1: When submission to the conduct involves a condition of the individual's employment, weather stated or suggested. 2: When the individual's submission or refusal is used, or creates a condition where it might be used, as the basis of an employment decision that affect the individual. 3: The conduct unreasonably interferes with the individual's job performance and ability to get the job done or creates a work environment that is intimidating, hostile, or offensive. Employees are urged to take a complaint of sexual harassment directly to a manager or general manager. Your management team is responsible for investigating all charges fully and completely, regardless of the manner in which they are made and who is involved. All complaints and the investigation thereof will be kept strictly confidential. All complaints will be investigated fully without bias and prejudgment. Such an investigation will include interviews with both parties to the complaint, and co-workers and former employees who may have knowledge to the situation. An investigator will be appointed by the General Manager, and the investigator will have access to all personnel files and will be granted all necessary access to information. Any employee who engages in sexual harassment in violation of this policy will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Green Ginger Procedures To ensure Magellan's remains a profitable, fun and safe place to work, the following policies have been established. 1) Drugs and Alcohol: Green Ginger is a drug free work place. Use or possession of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited and is grounds for immediate termination. Consumption of alcohol while working is strictly prohibited - this includes bartenders. There will be no loitering in the bar before or after work. If you are off for the day and would like to come in and dine with friends and family, you may drink at that time. 2) Professionalism: All employees are expected to present themselves in a professional manner at all times. As an employee of Green Ginger's, you are a representative of the company and your actions should always present the company in a positive and professional perspective. 2a) The use of profanity for any reason is prohibited. While the customer may not always be right, the customer is always respected. Green Ginger employees are prohibited from using profanity even if a customer is speaking in a profane manner. Should a customer become aggressive or rude, locate and advise the manager on shift of the situation immediately. 2b) You must always be courteous and professional to your co-workers. Creating an uncomfortable work environment benefits no one. 2c) While we understand that there are times when personal problems outside of work may cause personal stress, it is important to strive to be friendly and pleasant while at Green Ginger. 3) Socializing and Games: Socializing and playing games during working hours is prohibited. 3a) Friends and family may not visit employees while they are working. They are welcome at Magellan's as customers, but should not be treated differently nor receive special and/or more attention than other Magellan's customers. Friends and family may not "hang out" while waiting for your shift to end. 3b) This means cell phones. 4) Breaks: Employees must consult a manager before each break. Breaks are to be taken only in designated areas. 4a) Employees who smoke must do so in the outdoor break area behind the kitchen. An employee must be on the main floor at all times. Sitting in the bar area during shift is prohibited. There will be no smoking between the hours of 11am -2pm and 6pm -8pm. Anyone who wished to smoke other than those times must have management approval and must have someone to cover their station.
Green Ginger Procedures 5) Personal Hygiene: You and your clothes should always be clean. 5a) Long hair must be worn back and off of the shoulders. Facial hair is to be neat and trimmed. Strong perfumes and colognes are not allowed. 5b) Employees are required to wash their hands after using the restroom, smoking, or touching their face or hair. While working, keep your hands off of your body as much as possible. As you are dealing with food service, clean hands are very important. Sometimes people don't realize that they are tugging at their lip or chewing their nails, or running their hands through their hair. These habits must be kept in check while working. 6) Bar Area: Bartenders and bar backs are the only ones authorized to access beer and liquor. Unauthorized access to beer and liquor is grounds for immediate termination. Additionally, employees are not allowed behind the bar for any reason unless they are the bartender on shift. This includes bartenders who are working the floor. 7) The company phone is not to be used for personal reasons. Personal phone calls of any kind are not allowed unless you are on a break. Cell phones may only be used in a designated break area -out of customersâ€™ sight. This includes text messaging. Cell phones are to be kept in an employee purses or left in your cars and should NEVER be carried in your pocket or apron. 8) Employees are expected to arrive ready for work their scheduled shift. If something prevents you from getting to work on time, you must call a manager as soon as possible. You will need to be here 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time for the alley rally. We will be having a rally before every shift. If you miss the alley rally, you will be missing out on dinner specials, drink specials, etc. You will need this information to run your shift. 9) Employees must park in the back of the building. 10) You are responsible for covering your own shift. Shift changes must be approved by management. If management does not approve and document your shift change, YOU will be held responsible for your original shift should your replacement not show up. 11) Employees will receive 50% off one meal per shift. The meal must come off of the lunch menu and must only be eaten before or after your scheduled shift. Those working a split may eat between shifts on their break.

OPEN DOOR POLICY Magellan's welcomes an Open Door Policy to all employees. This means, literally, that every manager's door is open to every employee. The purpose of our open door policy is to encourage open communication, feedback, and discussion about any matter of importance to an employee. AT WILL EMPLOYMENT Georgia recognizes the doctrine of employment "at will". At will employers may be terminated for any reason as long as it is not illegal. Although it is customary to give your employer a two weeksâ€™ notice before you leave a job. At will means you as the employee may leave for any reason you wish. Your employer may terminate you as well without notice.
