L’Esprit de Sion The Right Choice By Shahbaz & Sofia Kahn

T

The Kahn Family: Shahbaz & Sofia; children Zoya, Manahil, Safa, Inaya and Aleena.

Not only a school, but it’s also a home. Not only a staff, but a family to those. Not just a building, stories it holds, And through its time, its treasures unfold.

Sion By Manahil Kahn

hree years ago we started looking for a school for Zoya, she was finishing 4th grade at another private school close to our house. Zoya is the oldest of five girls so, any decision we made for her would effect the other girls as well. In choosing the right school the things we were looking for were high academic standards, an environment in which she would be challenged, where she would learn to respect and honor others, develop strong personal skills that will help her in every walk of life and prepare her for the challenges of High School. We visited all of the local private schools, we liked Sion the very first time we visited. We live about 30 minutes away from the school so planning the daily commute with both of us working was another concern. We ended up carpooling with friends who also transferred their daughter from the same school that year, it has worked well.

Zoya’s first year was wonderful, she loves all her teachers and has made several friends within a short time. The very next year we ended up transferring our other 3 girls Manahil, Safa and Inaya to Sion as well. Zoya is now in the 8th grade, Manahil 7th, Safa in 4th and Inaya 3rd. During these 3 years we have found Sion to be a remarkable school for our kids. Not only are the teachers wonderful but the students and families are very friendly, kind and involved. We have seen our daughters blossom in these three years. We are blessed to have chosen Sion for our daughters and look forward to all of them attending Sion High School in the future.

Fall is a busy time at Sion. There are exciting classes, new technology, guest artists, Fall Festival, grandparents day, holiday programs and so much more.
