Our 1st Vice President – Pam McFarland As we head into early November, it's a great month to be thankful. And I have SO much to be thankful for!!! THANK YOU! I really want to send a huge thank you out this month, to all who participated in our Mock Dining In, it was a huge success. Table decorations this year just blew me away. You ladies really rocked it. I really enjoyed myself that night and I hope you all did too. Special shout out to Stephanie Sattinger and her committee who really put on a fabulous event! ALSO...again THANK YOU! This time to all who had a helping hand in our Holiday Market. Everyone from our volunteers, to the amazing vendors, to all of our shoppers, and I can't forget the amazing board members who did so much to make this a success. Another special shout out, this time to Rikki Goble who was our Holiday Market Chair. She really rocked this one. We are still crunching all the figures, but this event is one of our fundraisers for Community Grants and Scholarships, and I will tell you this was a huge success. Thank you all who helped make October a great month in LCSC. It's truly a joy to work with such an amazing group. As we move on into the Holiday season, be sure to check out our Cottage Boutique as you are gift shopping, we have many wonderful vendors and lots of fun items that would make great gifts. And we would love to see you all at our November and December luncheons too. So thankful, Pam

Kara Bridge – Our 2nd Vice President Today, I am thankful! I am thankful for many things but today I am thankful for the Lewis Community Spouses’ Club. The LCSC gave me the opportunity to meet some of the most extraordinary women and men at our many events. These people volunteer their time and talents to help make our community a better place to live. I am also thankful that the LCSC has given me opportunities to grow as a person. Through the PNW Explorers, I have been given the chance to see the local Pacific Northwest in all its beauty. The Mock Dining In taught me that it is ok to laugh at myself and to laugh until you cry. With the help of our Helping Hands community outreach, volunteering at the Emergency Food Network has warmed my heart and made me feel good about myself. All of these wonderful experiences would not have been possible without the LCSC. I am truly grateful for these opportunities and am looking forward to our “So Very Thankful” luncheon on November 17 th at the American Lake Conference Center! Grateful, Kara

The Sub Club Hub

Join Our Sub Clubs! The Sub Club Hub

We love the luncheons, we love giving back to your community, we love the mock dining-in, but have you tried one our sub clubs? A sub club is an amazing perk of being a member of the LCSC. These clubs focus on fun and fellowship with members who all share a common interest. These clubs are a great way to form lifelong friendships. Come on out and roll those dice, discuss great books, learn to cook new foods, or enjoy some of Washington’s finest wine amongst your LCSC friends! For this 2016-2017 year, we have an exciting variety of sub clubs to entertain everyone’s interests. Here is what we are offering this year:

Be inspired to feel more comfortable in the kitchen. Cooking is an art and you can get as creative as you want! We will introduce recipes from our collective backgrounds. We want to look to our membership for recipes from their heritage and also if we have anyone particularly skilled in certain cooking/baking skills ask that you join us and share your talent! At our monthly meetings we plan on demonstrating at least one recipe, and then enjoying lunch together. So bring your appetite to learn and to eat! Please contact Cal Brokamp for more information! calbrokamp@gmail.com

Sometimes it is exciting to read outside of the same genre of book you always read. Sometimes just looking at the cover of a book makes you not want to read it. However, in our book club, we are a group of ladies from all walks of life who enjoy all different genres. Join us on the 3rd Tuesday of every month as a different book club member chooses a book, hosts with snacks, and we discuss our thoughts and feelings of the book we’ve just reading. Contact Kelly Nix for more info! KJBTexas23@yahoo.com
