Hey there! Welcome to the 2016 LCSC year! Did you see all those purple shirts at the Super Sign Up event? Those are our dedicated volunteers that are taking time out of their already busy schedules to make our Spouses Club AMAZING! It is going to be an amazing year! We have so many fun events planned! Thank you to those of you that attended our Super Sign Up event and have already signed up! It's not too late to sign up though! You can sign up any time at www.lewiscommunityspousesclub.org. I don't want you to miss a single opportunity to get involved this year! We have our first luncheon just around the corner on September 8th (look for emails and info on Facebook). Our Mock Dining In is October 7th and the Holiday Market is October 28th-29th (no luncheon in October so we can focus on these two events). November 10th is a luncheon. We have Sub Clubs meeting all throughout the year (Book Club, Cooking Club, PNW Explorers Club, Wine Club, Bunco, Lunch Bunch, and Arts and Crafts Club). Sub Clubs are a way for members to get to know each other in a smaller group setting. If you didn't get a chance to sign up for one of these, you can email subclublcsc@gmail.com or find the Sub Club link on the website. We are so excited about the upcoming year and the events we are currently planning! We hope you can join us!

Our 1st Vice President – Pam McFarland Hi Y’all! I’m so excited to welcome you to our club this year. We enjoyed a fabulous Super Sign Up in August. A big shout out to all of our amazing vendors who brought so many awesome items for us to shop. I’m looking forward to many fun events that we are planning for this year. I hope all units join in a little Binge Watching fun for our upcoming Mock Dining In on October 7th. Tickets can be purchased soon through the Lewis Community Spouses Club website. This will be a fun evening of team building and camaraderie. So check with your unit and bring a friend. Also coming up in October will be our annual Holiday Market. This event will be a large craft show with slots for over 100 different vendors. If you would like to participate as a vendor, please see the application on the Lewis Community Spouses Club website to apply. Slots are filling up fast. For those wanting to attend, it will be on a Friday and Saturday this year, October 28th & 29th from 10am – 5pm daily. We are holding it at the American Lake Conference Center. Grab a friend and come start your Holiday shopping with many amazing handmade vendors. Well as you guys can see we have many amazing events coming up, don’t forget our monthly luncheons too. I really look forward to this fall, meeting a lot of the new faces, and seeing some old friends.

Kara Bridge – Our 2nd Vice President I know that I might be in the minority, but I am glad fall is just around the corner. I love the changing of the leaves, the cooler temperatures, kids in school, pumpkin flavored everything and football. The best part of fall is the first LCSC luncheon.

American Lake Conference Center.

Join us on September 8th to show off your team spirit by wearing your favorite team’s colors. Enjoy lunch and shopping while meeting new friends at the beautiful

I am thrilled about this LCSC year and all the exciting monthly events we have planned including a Murder Mystery, Trivia Night, and a Mad Hatter Tea Party. See you at the luncheon! Kara

The Sub Club Hub Join Our Sub Clubs! The Sub Club Hub We love the luncheons, we love giving back to your community, we love the mock dining-in, but have you tried one of our sub clubs? A Sub Club is an amazing perk of being a member of the LCSC. These clubs focus on fun and fellowship with members who all share a common interest. These clubs are a great way to form lifelong friendships. Come on out and roll those dice, discuss great books, learn to cook new foods, or enjoy some of Washington’s finest wine amongst your LCSC friends! For this 2016-2017 year, we have an exciting variety of Sub Clubs to entertain everyone’s interests. Here is what we are offering this year:

Be inspired to feel more comfortable in the kitchen. Cooking is an art and you can get as creative as you want! We will introduce recipes from our collective backgrounds. We want to look to our membership for recipes from their heritage and also if we have anyone particularly skilled in certain cooking/baking skills ask that you join us and share your talent! At our monthly meetings we plan on demonstrating at least one recipe, and then enjoying lunch together. Bring your appetite to learn and to eat! Please contact Cal Brokamp for more information! calbrokamp@gmail.com

Sometimes it is exciting to read outside of the same genre of book you always read. Sometimes just looking at the cover of a book makes you not want to read it. However, in our book club, we are a group of ladies from all walks of life who enjoy all different genres. Join us on the 3rd Tuesday of every month as a different book club member chooses a book, hosts with snacks, and we discuss our thoughts and feelings of the book we’ve just read. Contact Kelly Nix for more information! KJBTexas23@yahoo.com

Are you the next Monet or do you always end up with your finger stuck to the end of the glue gun? It doesn’t matter! The Craft Club welcomes everyone! These crafty spouses will share their expertise and fuel your creative fire with crafts ranging from wreath creation to stained glass and decoupage. There is something for everyone in the Craft Club. We are still looking for a leader for this club, if you’re interested please contact us! subclublcsc@gmail.com

Bunco is a fun dice game to play - no experience necessary! Please join us at the LCSC Schoolhouse on the last Tuesday of each month as we socialize and eat beginning at 6:00pm and start rolling the dice at 6:30pm. We ask everyone to bring a dish to share and $5 to play. We play for prizes – 6 prizes to win each month! The hostess each month buys the prizes, provides snacks for the tables, and drinks to share. It is a great way to socialize and make friends. Please contact Joanna Scully for more information! Jbs716@comcast.net

Each month, our host will pick a restaurant which allows our LCSC Lunch Bunch members to experience different

cultures and tastes throughout the South Puget area. We meet the 3rd Tuesday from 11:30am1pm, with each member responsible for purchasing their own lunch. This is a great opportunity to learn the area, try new restaurants and cuisines, and make new friends! Contact Caryn Anderson for more information! Caryn.r.anderson@gmail.com Wine Club Come relax and enjoy a glass of wine amongst LCSC friends! We live in wine country, so let’s explore it! This adventurous group will learn how to taste wine like a true wine snob and to pair hors d’oeuvres and desserts with the perfect wine selection like a true culinary pro! We hope to share reviews on bottles of wine, have tastings in our homes, and go to different wineries or wine bars where we can enjoy the fruits of the land. Contact Peggy Cleveland for more information! pegschalet@yahoo.com

The intent of the PNW Explorers is to explore all that the Puget Sound has to offer with your closest LCSC friends. Think adult field trips! Let’s hike, shop, and explore this amazing area together! Contact Peggy Cleveland for more information! Pegschalet@yahoo.com
