SUMMER CAMP STAFF We pride ourselves on our professional staff and safety measures. We follow LCFPD safety guidelines, keeping your camper’s safety as our number one priority. Summer camp staff is comprised of full-time Forest Preserve educators and seasonal instructors. All camp staff are first aid, CPR, AED, Epi-Pen, and Asthma Inhaler certified. Staff operating LCFPD vehicles have successfully completed a Defensive Driving course. SUMMER CAMP STAFF TO CAMPER RATIOS To ensure a top quality experience for your camper we maintain a safe, personable staff-to-camper ratio, set according to activities, capacity, and campers’ ages.

ESSENTIAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA All camp participants are required to meet Essential Eligibility Criteria (EEC) in order to register. A copy of the EEC is available online at www.LCFPD.org/EEC or request a copy by mail by calling 847-968-3321. Winchester Road, Libertyville, Illinois 60048. CANCELLATION & TRANSFER FEES Refunds are given upon request if received one week before the program, less a $10 service fee per child per session. In the rare instance that we must cancel a class, we issue credit toward another program or provide a refund. In the case of a transfer from one camp session to another, there is a $10 service fee per child per session. Camps that don’t meet minimum enrollment capacity by June 1 will be canceled. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED If you are unhappy with the quality of any program, let us know and we’ll issue a refund. CAMP ORIENTATION FOR PARENTS Parents are invited to a Summer Camps orientation on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, 7pm at Independence Grove Visitors Center. Independence Grove is located on Buckley Road (Rte. 137), east of Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville.

SUMMER CAMP CALENDAR KNEE-HIGH NATURALISTS—A Look at Locomotion Rediscover nature through your child’s eyes. This camp guides adults in a one-on-one outdoor experience with their young ones. ADVENTURES IN NATURE Discover science and nature while learning new skills. Emphasis is placed on adventure to make learning fun. Activities vary by camp and location, but may include the following: fishing, paddling, swimming, GPS navigation, wilderness survival, horseback riding (grades 5 & 6 only), biking, hiking and more. PINT-SIZED FARMERS Throw on your overalls and grab your pitchfork as you step into the boots of a modern-day farmer. Discover how food makes its way from the farm field to your kitchen table through hands-on exploration, activities and games. We’ll look at some magnificent machinery, plant our own crops, and even meet a farm animal or two along the way.

HERITAGE CAMP—Native Peoples and Voyageurs Learn about the lives of ancient Great Lakes peoples and how they relied on nature for food, clothing, shelter and transportation. Discover the lifestyle of Voyageurs—French explorers and fur traders. Stories, crafts and exploration reveal Lake County’s rich cultural history. Bring your own lunch and snacks.
