On Thursday, April 26th, more than 135 people gathered together at the Columbia County Life Style Enrichment Center for the Pregnancy Care Center Fundraising Banquet. “Life Donna Sandage, is beautiful” was the theme of the evening and was reflected in the stories and testimonies Executive Director shared. Pastor Shawn Maynard, First Assembly of God of Lake City, the Emcee for the banquet, touched each one with his encouraging words as well as his compassion for life. Dr. Dax Summerhill, Providence Village Baptist Church, opened with a heartfelt prayer and scripture. Donna Sandage, Executive Director, presented a large bouquet consisting of 42 daisies, each one representing a life saved through the ministry in 2011. She talked about the difference having a Sonogram in Lake City has made and her vision to see the Live Oak Center become “medical” as well. Donna also shared life changing client testimonies as well as her passion for the ministry. The Pregnancy Care Center is a local non-profit whose mission is to “protect the unborn, assist abortion vulnerable women in making the right decision, and provide selected social services, all to the glory of God.” The gifts and pledges received that night totaled over $30,000.00! Thanks to the many individuals, churches and businesses for making this banquet a success. The funds received will go directly to serving moms and dads in unexpected pregnancies and saving the lives of unborn children in Columbia, Suwannee and surrounding counties.
