fund For Excellence Supporting intellectual excellence and innovation in Business and Economics

Loughborough is a leading player across business, management, finance and economics Business education in Loughborough began in 1971. Since then the School has established a reputation for high-quality teaching, world-leading research and a strong emphasis on real-life applications. Our graduates consistently rank their experience amongst the best nationally and our courses regularly feature in the top ten of most university league tables. Our strong links with industry give our students a distinctive experience, and are able to apply their learning to real-world situations. Many of our professors and lecturers are internationally renowned. As well as contributing to our comprehensive and highly regarded research programmes, they have been awarded top ten rankings for teaching quality. Thus our students also benefit from working with academics who are not only leaders in their field, but are also first-class educators. Our globally oriented teaching and research allow us to:

Develop winners – Achieve excellence – Deliver value

Supporting excellence Our teaching and research programmes develop responsible leaders, enhance organisational performance, and promote sustainable growth. To continue to achieve this we face challenges in:

I enjoyed studying at Loughborough and have no doubt that the skills I learnt as a student helped me to develop a successful career in business. I am proud to be able to contribute to the University and support the development of future business leaders.

n Ensuring that the most talented and able undergraduate and postgraduate students are given the support they need to study Business and Economics at Loughborough

Ian Stopps B.Tech, 1969 Chair, SBE Strategic Advisory Board

n Stimulating and motivating future leaders to enable them to achieve their full potential n Making sure that ability – not ability to pay – shapes our student community Throughout Loughborough’s history, our alumni and friends have made major contributions to the world of business and economics. We would now like to call upon you, to support the entrepreneurs, business leaders and innovators of the future by supporting the Fund for Excellence. Your support could make a real difference to our students and I hope that you will join me in making a gift. This could be in the form of a single gift, a regular donation, or by remembering the Loughborough Fund for Excellence in your Will. Thankyou. Professor Angus Laing Dean, School of Business and Economics

Loughborough University Development Trust Over the last 10 years, Loughborough University Development Trust has received almost £2 million in philanthropic donations to support funds like the Fund for Excellence. In turn, many thousands of students have benefitted, and the University has been able to provide a world-class education and experience – as evidenced by Loughborough topping the Times Higher Education’s (THE) Best Student Experience poll five years running. In part, this has been made possible by the generosity of alumni and friends of the University. Some have supported the Trust from its earliest days and week by week the number of supporters is growing.

“Loughborough gave me a fantastic start for a career in the venture capital industry. I want to help make sure that we continue to support the entrepreneurs and innovative thinkers of the future because this is how we will guarantee our place in the global economy.”
