Miami Life C.A.M.P. 4 Justice The Florida International University College of Law named one of its state-of-the-art courtrooms in honor of the four Brothers to the Rescue volunteers who perished when their planes were shot down by Cuban MiG fighter jets on Feb. 24, 1996. The C.A.M.P. 4 Justice Courtroom, named after the foundation, is the latest in a series of important relationships between the College of Law and the victim’s families. Last year, the C.A.M.P. 4 Justice Foundation established the C.A.M.P 4 Justice Scholars Program in Human Rights, supporting the education of FIU Law students who will serve as the new generation of human rights ambassadors. The C.A.M.P. 4 Justice Foundation was formed by the families of Carlos Costa, Armando Alejandre Jr., Mario de la Peña, and Pablo Morales, who sacrificed their lives for the cause of human rights and political freedom.
South Florida is one of the country’s largest metropolitan areas. The trendy restaurants and clubs of South Beach attract visitors from around the world and are frequented by celebrities, many of whom call Miami home. The Miami area has a subtropical climate with plenty of sunshine throughout the year. The rainy season occurs during the summer and early fall, keeping the area lush and tropical. 11
