Student Affairs As the Sr. Associate Dean for Enrollment, Student Development, and Outreach, I am responsible for ensuring that your academic, professional, and personal needs are met during your time at FIU Law. My department supervises and oversees programs and services such admissions, financial aid, career development, community service, externships, student organizations, housing needs, disability services, registration, health services, and counseling, to name a few. Because our students come to our campus from many different places, with different backgrounds, and different needs, we make every effort to provide the best and most comprehensive resources possible for their intellectual growth and personal development.
Gregory Pierre, Class of 2012
What makes FIU Law different is the commitment of the faculty, staff, and students to an excellent, exciting, and supportive educational community in which each student can pursue their individual vision in the legal profession. FIU Law offers an excellent combination – a state-of-the-art legal education in the heart of palm-tree covered landscapes. The city of Miami – a major metropolitan community with a wide range of legal opportunities – provides ample opportunities for internships, judicial clerkships, externships, clinical work, and public interest involvement. By joining our College of Law, you would be joining a talented community of learners and educators, in an environment that provides pathways for intellectual, creative, and cultural enrichment. While law school can be challenging, there is more to life than the academia. Every year, the various student organizations sponsor academic and social programs including: Alumni Receptions, Retreats, Symposiums, Public Interest Auctions, Mentor/Mentee Events, Speaker Series, Seminars, Charitable Events, Conferences, National Conventions, Karaoke Nights, and various Black Tie events. We invite you to take a tour of our campus, and see what keeps our law school World’s Ahead.
We challenge our students to achieve new heights of intellectual curiosity and accomplishment while offering the encouragement and support that comes from a close-knit community.
Michelle Mason Sr. Associate Dean for Enrollment Management, Student Development and Outreach & Interim Director, Center for Professionalism and Ethics 76
What I love most about the College of Law at Florida International University is our skilled faculty. They take an interest in the students both personally and professionally, and go above and beyond what is required to ensure that our experiences here are meaningful.
