Negotiation The BOA negotiation teams have also had stellar success, advancing to the national finals in the ABA Negotiation Competition 5 of the last 7 years. In 2009, our negotiation team finished 3rd in the nation, from a field of over 200 teams from 114 law schools! In 2010, another FIU team nearly duplicated the prior team’s feat, finishing 4th in the nation at the ABA National Negotiation Competition! The negotiation team has dominated the Southeast Regional, taking the regional championship 3 of the last 4 years.
In three years of competition at the Intercultural Human Rights Competition, FIU has won two Championships and finished Third, taking home two Best Orator and two Runner-Up Best Orator Awards as well as awards for Best Brief and Runner-Up Best Brief.
Law Review The FIU College of Law sponsors a student-edited scholarly law journal publishing articles of interest to lawyers, judges and academics. Membership on the Law Review is based mostly on a writing competition open to the full time students after the first year and part- time students after the second year of law school.
FIU Law is my second home. I am constantly surrounded by faculty, administration, and staff that provide unparalleled guidance and support. The close-knit community at FIU Law challenges and encourages you to become the best version of yourself. If you want to flourish within the legal field, FIU is the place for you.
