participants of all levels. Full Throttle: Full Throttle is a high energy class packed with cardio conditioning and callisthenic movements to build strength and stamina. The combination of aerobic movements with strength and stabilization exercises will give you a total body workout and help you reach your fitness goals. Zumba: Let’s Zumba! Zumba is an hour class that combines high energy and motivating music with the unique moves and combinations of Latin dance. Zumba is a “feel-happy” workout that is great for both the body and the mind. Yin Yoga: Find your inner strength with the ancient practice of Yoga. Yin Yoga is a series of asanas or postures to increase flexibility, energy and stillness of mind. Yin Yoga focuses on stretching the connective tissues of the body. In this class, participants will hold poses for longer periods of time, allowing your body to restore itself and return to its balance. Yoga mats are provided. Sculpt and Tone: Sculpt your body with an assortment of strength training exercises that will tone and work every muscle in your body. Instructors teach you weight training basics while targeting those trouble zones. Run Club: Join your neighbors for a run, jog, walk or crawl along the beautiful trails in Cross Creek Ranch. Leaving from the Fitness Center, the Run Club treks a 5K (approximately 3.1 mile) course along Flewellen Creek. This couch to 5K program is perfect for all levels of fitness.

Sightings

What type of wildlife have you seen in CCR? Share your story at ccrlifestyledirector@johnsondev.com.

American Bittern Botaurus lentiginosus is a stocky and well-camouflaged heron of dense reed beds, the American Bittern is difficult to see. Its far-carrying booming call is distinctive, but the bittern itself likes to keep under cover. American Bitterns breed in freshwater marshes with tall vegetation. You can American Bittern find them in wetlands of many sizes and types, typically less densely vegetated and shallower than wetlands used by the Least Bittern. In winter they move to areas where water bodies don’t freeze, especially near the coast, where they may occasionally use brackish marshes. Managed wetlands such as wildlife refuges seem to be important for wintering American Bitterns.
