Our Adventure builds teams & leaders
For Professionals: Our Methodology All BREDS Rope’s course adventures reflect a philosophy that through immersive learning one can develop and grow in a first-person way. Immersive learning is the ability to engage in an unfamiliar environment and to learn from it. We have two programs; one is designed to develop high functioning teams and the other is designed specifically for leadership development. The purposes of our programs are to learn through an exciting, energetic and challenging experience. We offer a safe and supported adventure that gets participants involved in their individual and team learning. As the programs present an unfamiliar learning environment, we use that to challenge participants to manage change in a first person and team perspective. Through the adventure and our training tools, participants develop skills such as developing foresight, insight, and opportunity. Overall, these skills help leaders and teams to understand the unpredictable, ambiguous, and uncertain business environments that exist in the 21st century. 2
Enhanced Learning Tools Our-immersive experience approach to learning is greatly enhanced through our use of different assessments and learning inventories. We use different tools to help leaders and teams dig deeper into whom they are and how they prefer to learn. We offer three different learning assessments/inventories that are explained below.
Johansen’s Future Skills Indicator This assessment helps you identify your own future leadership skills. The purpose is to understand how to work in rapidly changing, ambiguous and unfamiliar working and business environments.
Strength Finders/Strengths Based Leadership This assessment is designed to uncover your strengths. Often, we tend to focus on weakness and how to improve what we do not do well. This assessment asks you to gain insight into your own unique strengths.
Feedback Intensive Learning Adventure This assessment asks you to learn about yourself through an immersive learning feedback experience. “Assessment and feedback, by their very nature, provide one source of intense challenge: that of looking inward, the discomfort of being observed and rated by others, the fear of having weaknesses exposed, and the ultimate test of goal achievement and behavior change” (Johansen, 2012, p. 80).
OTHER TOOLS: We also have other tools that work on other aspects of learning and development for adults. Our training and adult learning and development experts can customize our leadership and high functioning team ropes course programs to fit any of your individual or teams’ specific needs. Customizing tools can also accommodate those that do not want to participate in the actual ropes course. We can design intensive immersive learning experiences off the course too! 3
