Walk more! o Even though it’s not our first instinct or what we always want to do, it is good for our bodies to walk more each day. Taking advantage of opportunities to walk will help you feel better, use more muscles, and burn more calories throughout the day. Park at the back of the parking lot and choose to walk further Walk across campus rather than taking the bus or shuttle Take advantage of breaks in between classes to take a nice walkit will refresh your mind & energize your body
Take the steps! o While many of us are used to using elevators, taking the steps is an easy way to keep your body moving. So next time you have the option, skip the ride and start climbing those steps.
Add colors to your meals o Try to add a new color to your plate at each meal and snack throughout the day. Replace bland colors with brighter ones. A colorful plate is a good sign that you are eating a balanced diet and will also provide great variety to your daily meals!
Replace sodas with water o By simply replacing sodas with water you could save yourself a lot of calories! One bottle of soda has over 200 calories. By drinking water you can save those calories for foods you like you to eat. Plus, your body will be well-hydrated with the extra water you’re drinking.
Take time each day to manage your stress o Stress can impact our physical and mental health, and it can build up without us knowing. It is important to take steps every day to relax. • Spend 5 minutes a day practicing deep breathing. It will relax you and help you to remain calm during stressful situations. • Take a bath or shower to relax. • Go for a run to relieve stress.
