Assisted in community charettes. Wrote neighbourhood assessment reports, filled gaps in data by mapping in the field (GPS based).

SODADE, Port au Prince, Haiti Urban planner/designer Responsible for the development of a GIS based map and a data collection method for the Canaan area (through site visits and literature study).
Cordaid (Dutch NGO), Port au Prince and Leogane, Haiti Researcher Conducted a vulnerability assessment of the inhabitants of Cordaid’s Leogane areas, and combined this data with existing data on hazard probability into a quick risk-map.
Municipality of Amsterdam, Amsterdam, the Netherlands Research intern Assisted in urban planning and design projects in Amsterdam’s east quarter, concerning urban regeneration, business development and the planning of an urban expansion area.

Competition: Haitian National Cathedral Competition Worked on an entry for new ideas for the National Cathedral of Port au Prince. Landscape design and layout of final entry.
Research: Meta-Evaluation of the American Red Cross t-shelter program, Port au Prince, Haiti Developed a set of neighbourhood profiles as an example of contextual analysis that can potentially inform post-disaster decision making (not publicly available).
Academics: Teaching assistant MIT/UC Berkeley/Worldbank/Quisqueya/UEH summerschool Assisted in logistics of the CRUH (Centre de Recherche de Universitaire Haitien, a collaboration between Haitian universities (Quisqueya and UEH) and MIT, UC Berkeley and the Worldbank) summerschool. I also gave a few lectures. Competition: Finalist ‘battle of the best beta’ contest. Worked on a joined assignment for Accenture and Plan Nederland concerning the design of a new digital registration system for beneficiaries.
