California’s Culinary Classic Returns
Debuting in 2013, the iLatin Food Fest! now attracts more than 20,000 attendees annually, becoming the largest and most-attended annual multi-city destination event in the U.S., debuted. This year’s event opened in Los Angeles, running from March, 1 8-21 with a second venue scheduled in San Diego August 14-17. Food, wine from Baja and Mezcal and Tequila continues to be the hot consumer interest across the U.S., but preferences have now expanded to include a fascination with food, wine and spirits from Brazil, Peru, El Salvador, Spain and Portugal. The iLatin Food Fest! showcases a broad its selection of food and beverage from these regions and beyond. During four consecutive days beginning on August 14 and ending on August 17 in San Diego, these events will offer a unique experience that includes tasting samples of multiple spirits at the "Spirits of the Americas" extravaganza (such as Bacanora, Cachaça, Mezcal, Pisco, Raicilla, Rum, Sotol and Tequila); enjoying the cuisine and cooking demonstrations from world-renowned chefs at the "Grande Tasting“ event; having fun with your children at the "Family Fiesta’s" Kids Kitchen; and participating in the invitation-only “Havana Nights Supper Club” with its six-course private dinner that features a Cuban tasting experience and live music. There is literally something to enjoy for everyone’s palate. Attendees will have an opportunity to be immersed in the Latin culture of Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and Spain - sampling Latin food and spirits and dancing to live music. Two silent auctions will be held during the events, where attendees will be able to bid on food-related memorabilia, ranging from artwork, collectibles, jewelry, dinners, and spa treatments, to weekend getaways, rounds of golf, designer accessories, and memorabilia from the San Diego Chargers and San Diego Padres. These auctions have a charitable purpose and will benefit local organizations like the YMCA of San Diego. As an added feature, our presenting sponsor, the Lincoln Motor Company, will feature its 2015 line of vehicles during the “Grande Tasting”. Participants will be able to get up close and personal with the 2015 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid, a perfect balance of luxury and efficiency, with best-in-class EPA est. 41 city MPG. Other Lincoln Motor Company vehicles will be available for test-drives along with a special gift for those who participate. 15 million Hispanic people live in California, and is the largest ethnic group in the Golden State. It’s no wonder that the culture of these vibrant people have added a wonderful dimension to the California experience.
