Intellectual Property: Guidelines for Creative Genius
Tuesday, May 25th 6:30 ‐ 8:00 PM Traverse Area District Library
Intellectual property (IP) refers to creations of the mind: inventions, literary and artistic works, and elements of commercial design. Intellectual property embraces nearly everything we do. At home and work, at rest and play, we are surrounded by the fruits of human creativity and invention. The field of copyright and related rights protects the creators of original works. However, technological development and world‐wide communication tools raise new questions concerning the laws that defend creative genius. Traverse City attorney Lawrence R. LaSusa will share his knowledge of IP in this global era. Mr. LaSusa is the author of several national and regional articles on intellectual property, trademarks, trade secrets and employment issues.
The Speaker Series is FREE and open to the public. No reservation or media experience is required. For more information call (231) 929‐4188 or visit www.upnorthmedia.org
