In this Issue: Trick or Treat for UNICEF OTCs Fall Rally Tailgate Upcoming Events

Trick or Treat for UNICEF Trick or Treat for UNICEF has been helping children raise money for other less fortunate children all over the world for years. This year Key Club is raising money to help prevent maternal and neonatal tetanus in impoverished countries where the people are not able to afford the medication for it. This horrible disease takes the life of a precious newborn every nine minutes. It is a completely preventable fate, and by raising money for mothers to pay $1.80 for the vaccination, we will be helping over 100 million women in 38 countries. It is called the ELIMINATE project, so keep filling your UNICEF boxes so we can eliminate this painful disease!

Officer TrainingConference Our president (Harley Super), vice president (Kelsey Emmell), and editor (yours truly -Langley Oudemans) all attended the Officer Training Conference earlier this month. We learned a lot of valuable information that we can use as tools to improve our club!

FALL RALLY! At this massive pep rally over 3,000 Key Clubbers came together to kick off the service year and have an awesome time at Six Flags! At the pep rally our division, Division 1, won the Spirit Stick for being the loudest, most energetic division there! After that we headed off for an awesome day riding the rides. Once the sun went down the ghouls came out for Fright Night! Almost everyone was jumping from the monsters and looking over their shoulder every ten seconds. Most likely the only person who wasn’t scared was our very fearless Mr. B, despite desperate attempts of many Key Clubbers to make break his stoic shell. Even though the heat became rather intense at points in the day, everyone I talked to said they wished we could have stayed longer.

Tailgating! Key Club and Field Hockey both had a tailgating before the football game on October 15th. We had snacks and drinks for everyone to enjoy, and afterwards we showed our pirate pride and cheered for our invincible football team. Everyone had a great time socializing and cheering for the football players.
