Green infrastructure is multifunctional networks that provide benefits for people and nature; essential for thriving communities. There is a wide range of research on the importance of access to green space for people’s health and wellbeing. Provision of these networks is a vital response to the ever-increasing threats to wildlife and climate change while assisting in the creation of low carbon neighbourhoods. Parish Green Infrastructure Strategies (PGIS) provides robust technical evidence to guide and inform your Neighbourhood Development Plans and respond to the National Planning Policy Framework and emerging Environment Bill. Green Infrastructure Strategies help you cohesively realise your green vision for now and into the future with real funding opportunities such as Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and Local Walking and Cycling Infrastructure Plans (LWCIP). Who we are Multi-award winning Sarah Jones-Morris (Director of Landsmith Associates), based in Bristol and is a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) with a MA in Urban Design. She has 20 years of experience as a landscape architect and urban designer.

How we work Our approach is fully collaborative and brings together the disciplines of ecology, landscape architecture and urban design. The core team remains constant but further specialist input is invited whenever it is required PGIS can include community engagement, site appraisals and meetings, technical desktop assessment as well as strategies and proposals The focus area includes all land within the parish boundary (urban and rural areas) plus an additional 1 to 2 km to provide a wider context.

Jenni Reid (Director of Burton Reid Associates) is passionate about designing mitigation and biodiversity enhancements that support green infrastructure and our future health and wellbeing and is a champion for interdisciplinary collaboration in her work. Jenni is a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) and Fulll Member of Institute of Ecology & Environmental Management (CIEEM) has 18 years of experience within ecology.
