Our team of Enforcement Officers can issue fines for a wide range of environmental offences that affects us all, including littering, fly-tipping and incorrect use of wheeled bins and recycling boxes.

We prosecute residents who commit environmental offences either through the courts or by issuing Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs). To avoid an £80 fine please ensure you; • Separate your waste for recycling • Do not litter • Only use the containers we have provided and do not leave extra waste out for collection • Return the containers to your property straight after collection.

Asbestos must not be placed in your bin. Householders can take it to Salt Ayre Household Waste Centre at Ovangle Road in Lancaster. The asbestos should be double bagged in heavy duty polythene and securely sealed. Alternatively call a licensed waste removal contractor.
