They were blessed back in 2007 with a new home from ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition and, with that, a gift from the University of Louisville that would send all three sons to college. This gift brought all of them to the doorstep of Lambda Chi Alpha. Patrick Henry first became interested in Lambda Chi Alpha during his college years but, due to his involvement in the Marching Cardinals and other clubs, he was unable to join at that time. “I graduated college in 2010 and, being involved in so many other areas, I really didn’t have time to join. I never thought you could be could be honorarily initiated. It was really awesome”, Patrick Henry said in an interview following his initiation.

The chapter brought these eight new brothers together in the best way possible; a high-energy singing of Magic Carpet Ride. Patrick John and Patrick Henry will be added to the chapter as Zeta Sigma 1160 and 1161, respectively. Both Patrick John and Patrick Henry provided some final words to the chapter: “I thought my chance at fraternity days were behind me when I left college. I never thought something like this was possible. It’s truly an honor” said Patrick John. “It is an honor to be initiated. A big thanks to Cameron and to his friends for everything. I am just grateful to be a part of Lambda Chi,” said Patrick Henry
In the spring of 2010, Jesse Hughes (Louisville 1093) was initiated. He spent four great years at Zeta-Sigma and continued to bring his family around. Cameron Hughes followed the footsteps of his older brother; being initiated in the fall of 2013. When the day finally came to initiate Patrick John and Patrick Henry, there was a general sense of excitement, both from them and from the chapter. Patrick John gave his thoughts on how he felt before going through the ceremony: “I was excited to join an organization that both of my sons value. It was also exciting that they wanted to include their older brother, Patrick, as well. Being a Mason, I understood some aspects of the ritual but I was excited to see how Lambda Chi conducted their own ritual.
