a) Appearance Settings

Heading Background Color: Click to open a color picker window. Choose a color and the picker closes. You should see the color you picked in the input box. Background Colors for Rows (odd, even): Click to open a color picker window. Choose a color and the picker closes. You should see the color you picked in the input box. These colors are used on alternate rows in the Class List. Mouse Over Color: Click to open a color picker window. Choose a color and the picker closes. You should see the color you picked in the input box. The background of a line in the Class List flashes this color as the mouse passes over it. Font Family, Font Size Font Color: Choose the font, font size and color to use in your Class List. Click on Submit after making a selection, and the FONT SAMPLE shows what your choices look like. NOTE – the Arial font at 16px or 18px is especially easy to read. b) Settings for Progress Reports This allows you to set what will be shown on the Progress Reports that are run directly from your Rankbook. The settings apply when you view the progress report for an individual student, or print Progress Reports for the whole class, and also control what Parents see in iParent, if used. It is now possible to configure a progress report to display outstanding assignments only. You might choose to run an outstanding assignment progress report for the whole class, near the end of the Term, as a reminder of what work is owed. Show Grades as: Select Percentage or Points Average to include: Select YTD or Term average, or Both. Sort Assignments: You can choose what order assignments should be listed: By Due Date (ascending order), By Due Date Descending, By Type (ascending due date) or By Type Descending.


Include the Class Average: Check to have the class average display in a column next to a student’s score, in the assignment list. Display the Grade code: Check to have the grade code display in a column next to a student’s grade. Display the Grade code ONLY: Check to have the grade code display in the Grade column (instead of the numeric grade). Include the Past Due Assignment List: Check to have a list of owed assignments appear in the progress report after the grades section, under the heading “Past Due Assignments”. Refer to the section marked in the sample below. List only the Past Due Assignments: Check to have the progress report show a list of owed assignments under the heading “Past Due Assignments”. When checked no grades or averages are listed. Include the Category Averages: Check to show the averages for each assignment category. This appears as a separate section in the middle of the report. Refer to the section marked in the sample below. Include the Term Note Check to have a note appear at the bottom of a progress report. The note is Term specific, and must be defined in the Assignment Weights and Data screen for this Course-section. Refer to the section marked in the sample below. Include the note to Student about Assignment: Check to have a note appear below an assignment, if one has been entered in the grading screen. Refer to the example marked in the sample below.
