Curriculum 2013-14

Pupil Outcomes: All children experience a curriculum which meets the requirements of the national curriculum, provides continuity and progression and enables them to make expected or better progress in all areas of learning and in developing the key life and learning skills. The curriculum supports all children to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.

Develop understanding of content and assessment requirements for revised curriculum to be introduced 2014 • Produce LT/MT planning framework for introduction– Sept 2014. • Ensure planned topics are appropriately resourced. Develop resources – topic collections • Continue to promote cross curricular use of key skills • Expand cross curricular use of literacy numeracy skills • Develop core subject and life skills through enterprise education/TASC activities • Introduce Life Skills passports • Develop Global Dimension, Sustainability awareness and Eco School –Africa link/St Norberts/Diversity Day • Develop PE curriculum and quality of provision using Sport Premium

Success Criteria:• Planning framework for 2013-14 revised NC.is in place • LT and MT curriculum plans are based on and cover all required LOs. • LT and MT plans provide thematic, engaging and relevant contexts for learning which motivate and enthuse pupils • LT and MT plans identify cross curricular contexts to apply core subject skills so that children make rapid progress in literacy, numeracy and ICT • Decisions on time allocations are flexible, based on learning needs and relevance. • Senior and subject leaders are familiar with curriculum and assessment requirements for revised curriculum at each phase • Resources are in place to support successful curriculum delivery • Children develop key life and learning skills and attributes. • Children have positive attitudes to learning and skills to be independent learners. • Children have opportunities to develop global awareness • Children develop awareness of sustainability issues and work towards Eco Schools Award. • Audit of current curriculum, quality of teaching and outcomes identifies key areas for improvement • PE Development Plan developed and implemented • All staff are confident and competent to deliver high quality PE • Pupils access a broad offer of school sport and achieve highly in PE
