The United Way of Pasco County Prosperity Campaign is looking for volunteers to help provide free tax return preparation service. Volunteers will get full, comprehensive IRS training and become certified to prepare basic returns. Parade and cruise-in The City of Zephyrhills and Main Street Zephyrhills will honor veterans and active duty service members during a Veteran’s Day Parade & Classic Car Cruise-In on Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to noon, in historic downtown Zephyrhills. The parade will feature senior military officials, active duty and retired military units, veterans groups, local high school marching bands, military organizations, decorative floats, JROTC units and more. Free rides for military


Pasco County Public Transportation will offer free bus rides to active-duty military and veterans on Nov. 12, in recognition of Veterans Day. To take advantage of the offer on all fixed-service transit routes, individuals need to show a form of ID to the PCPT bus driver, which include Military ID card, DD Form 2, valid VA card, DD 214 (honorable discharge status), or “V” on driver’s license. Pasco County Public Transportation and The Volunteer Way will host “Stuff the Bus” to collect food donations Nov. 10 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at two Walmart Supercenters: 8745 State Road 54 in New Port Richey and 8701 U.S. 19 in Port Richey. Items needed include frozen turkeys, hams, and nonperishable foods, such as boxed stuffing, instant mashed potatoes and canned vegetables.

Metropolitan Ministries, along with Keystone Community Church in Lutz, has set up a donation tent on the church property at 21010 State Road 54, to accept food donations, such as staples and turkey for those in need for the holiday season. Donations can be dropped off starting Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays, and until 5 p.m. on Saturday.
