ho needs Black Friday when the GFWC Lutz-Land O’ Lakes Woman’s Club has plenty to share for those holiday gift lists. And unlike the same old DVD player and PlayStation 4 found at regular stores, the 35th annual Lutz Arts & Crafts Fair at Lake Park last weekend had plenty of ideas for stocking stuffers and gifts under the tree not available anywhere else. This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the woman’s club, typically attracting more than 250 vendors and an estimated 30,000 attendees over the two-day event the weekend of Dec. 6. Christmas got an early start in Lutz, at least for anyone who made the trek to Lake Park on North Dale Mabry Highway.
Artist and craftsman John Youlio of Spring Hill has detail well in hand as he shows off his tiny artwork. With most of the fine work measuring 1.5-by-2 inches, various bath tile and canvas pieces, as well as Formica and Masonite, are adorned with Youlio’s creativity in acrylic paint. The easels are handmade from basswood.
Sandy Britton of Carrollwood finds herself a miniature artificial Christmas tree decorated with University of Florida school colors. Sandy Johnson of Port Richey made the clever decorations.
Lucy Albury of Land O’ Lakes put smiles on faces with her Santa Claus headband, which was suggested she call ‘santlers.’ The GFWC Lutz-Land O’ Lakes Woman’s Club member was making her way through the 35th annual Lutz Arts & Crafts Fair with fellow member Aniko Solomonson of Lutz.
Susan Camacci of Lutz carries a newly purchased holiday decoration for her home. Camacci, a self-confessed snowman collector, bought the piece at the 35th annual Lutz Arts & Crafts Fair.
