When you buy fresh herbs, trim the stems and put in a glass of water (a mason jar works well). Then place a plastic bag (like the one you got at the grocer) over top and secure by tying with string. Store in the fridge for up to two weeks!

Yes! The cork material absorbs moisture put off by the ripening fruit and activates a fragrance from the cork that fruit flies do not like.

Press a piece of wax paper directly onto the ice cream before you put the lid on and put it back in the freezer; the barrier will help prevent freezer burn.
