Iredell Health System is pleased to announce LISA WOOD, MSN, RN, as the new Assistant Vice President of Nursing and Patient Care Services. Lisa has a diverse background in nursing and leadership with experience in critical and progressive care, long-term acute care, vascular care, and wound care and hyperbarics. She has held several leadership roles in her career including regional wound care director for more than 40 long-term acute care hospitals.

MARY K. HICKLE, a 20-year resident of Davidson, celebrated her 100th birthday this summer with a drive-by tribute and party. Mary was born in Laurel, Mississippi, on July 21, 1922. She is a member of the First Baptist Church in Huntersville and former participant in the Women’s Circle at Davidson United Methodist Church. Long-standing member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Mary is also an avid Ohio State football and NASCAR fan.

STARR MILLER (StarrMiller Interior Design) and her team recently moved to a new office/studio at 20109 Knox Road in Cornelius. “While we have been here for a few months,” Starr says, “we are finally getting settled in … the new space is more efficient and a delightful place to spend the day creating as a team.” With triple the space, not only is it more accommodating for their work, Starr points out, but clients will be inspired as well in this newly designed, upgraded space.

KIM JACOBS announces that the 7th Annual 5k Walk for Gabe’s Heart Foundation will be Saturday, September 24, 8:00 a.m. at Northwest Cabarrus Middle School track in Concord (5140 Cabarrus Dr. NW). Gabe’s Heart Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in honor of Kim’s son Gabriel who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 12 due to a heart defect.
