dr. nicole NAYLOR LKNW RECOGNIZES A WOMAN DOING EXCEPTIONAL WORK IN THE LAKE NORMAN COMMUNITY, A LEADER WHO IS PAVING THE WAY TO CHANGING OUR ATTITUDES AND INSPIRING CONFIDENCE IN THE FUTURE.
SETTING HER COURSE: I originally planned to major in business, but during the first hour of my first economics class I was so bored and confused I knew it wasn’t for me! I started shadowing dentists in my home town and realized how much of an impact dentistry had on people. It’s a great combination of science and art and it can have a profound impact on a person’s life by changing how they see themselves.
TRYING TO PUT HERSELF OUT OF BUSINESS: As a dentist, you can do the best work in the world and create a beautiful smile for someone, but if they aren’t doing the right things at home, that work can all be destroyed. That is why we stress homecare and flossing and brushing so vehemently when patients are in the office. In a way, we are constantly trying to put ourselves out of business!

JUGGLING: As a professional woman and a working mom, I’ve learned to be quite the juggler. Some days are more challenging than others, but I try to remember that the hard days aren’t every day and the good days make it all worth it. I know I can’t always accomplish everything I intended to, and I’ve learned that it’s ok to go to bed without the kitchen being clean!
AMAZING GRACES: I am grateful for so many things, especially family. I come from a very loving and nurturing family that has always encouraged me to achieve great things. My parents started their family at a very young age, and things could have certainly been a lot different. And I have the most amazing husband who makes my life easier each day and who is the world’s greatest dad to our two children, Ava and Lucas. I am also grateful for a thriving practice filled with patients who have become more like friends through the years. Dr. Nicole Naylor is a dentist and the practice owner of West Lake Dentistry in Denver. She won the William Reed Butler Scholar award in 2009 for her research in the field of endodontics, and she received recognition in 2011 as one of “America’s Top Dentists” by consumer research council of America.
