woman to watch on MY JOURNEY HERE: I grew up in Franklin, Indiana, and attended college at Indiana University for my nursing degree. I earned my graduate degree as a family nurse practitioner from South University in Savannah, Georgia. My husband and I now live in Mooresville with our 13-year-old son, Hayden, and 11-year-old daughter Ellison. We have two Labradors, Winston and Bentley. I enjoy the Lake Norman area with its proximity to the beach and mountains and the diversity in the population. on CATCHING DREAMS: HARNESSING INNER STRENGTH: My

father taught me that a strong work ethic is the foundation of success. He was thoughtful, humble, and had a strong inner strength. These characteristics have influenced me throughout my life. Even though he had no formal education, his entrepreneurial skills were impressive. When I lost my dad, mother, and sister, my inner strength was greatly challenged and, thanks to my dad’s teachings, I was able to draw from his influence in my life while coping with their deaths.

One thing I know for sure is that change is constant, and having a positive attitude is essential to survive events in daily life. I also believe that with faith, there is hope, and like the apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” To me, this scripture promotes optimism, and through the challenges in life, helps build character. Through the many obstacles I have faced in my life, I have worked to become driven with purpose.
