Right about now you might be feeling like the pressure is on because what happens if you don’t keep those promises? Ok, I want to let you in on a secret and what really happens, so draw close. As women, we put so much pressure on ourselves to make commitments TO the commitments that we never actually take action. The key to getting in shape physically, financially, or spiritually is starting. In this age of social media, text messages, and emojis you can hide behind all of it and SAY “I’m good” without being good. As women, we tend to believe that we have to wear the “S” on our chest and have it stand for Super when all it really needs to stand for is Selfish. You read that right, Selfish. How many times have you said you would complete a project after the kids have gone to bed, only to fall asleep and not get it done? Exactly. We have to be willing to do what we need to for ourselves and be okay with it! Together, let’s create a habit of meeting our goals of getting financially, physically, and spiritually fit and achieving personal success. I challenge you to do these four things for the next 28 days because that’s how long research says it takes to form a habit:

Don’t think twice about saying no. It is a complete sentence. It’s perfectly okay to put yourself first … if you don’t come in first in your own life, where else will you? 2

Eat the cake or ice cream and smile. Life is uncertain and if those things bring you joy, then embrace them. After you embrace that bowl of Edy’s, go embrace your sneakers and get your body moving. 3

For every purchase you make, write it down. If you can see what you are spending, you can recognize your patterns. 4

Every time you are tempted to worry, have doubt, or feel despair, say this aloud, “Where I am today is not where I have to be tomorrow. I am wellloved, I am more than capable, and I AM God’s gift to the world.” Speak those things that are not as though they are. w
