ALL AMENITIES are OPEN for the SEASON! Welcome to the 2010 Summer Season at Lake Naomi Club. Gear up for golf tournaments, sailing regattas, tennis tournaments, Klub Day Camps, Snow Crab Fest, evening entertainment, swim lessons, movie nights... the list goes on and on. Trying to navigate all the offerings at the Club’s many amenities can be mind boggling. Our hope is that this Weekly Flyer along with the 2010 Summer Calendar can help to keep you and your family informed of all there is to do here. Our staff and many volunteers are always willing to help answer questions; all you need to do is ask. So jump in and do as much as you can, or relax by the pool or on the beach. This Week’s Highlights COMMUNITY GARDEN PROGRAM ―Stem root and leaf fruit‖ with guest speaker Jim Koun, June 26th ,10am at the Community Garden. All members are welcome. Session will include crafting for the kids, hands on gardening, and an instructional lesson. There is an $8 fee to cover the cost of materials. Please sign up in advance at the Community Center and ask for all the summer session dates. GUITAR LESSONS - Will meet once a week (every Sunday starting July 4th, 10am) during the month of July in a classroom setting for a total of 4 weeks. Please bring your own guitar. Cost of the month is $40. For more information please contact Marty Gallocher at (917) 822-9629 or rockmart7@aol.com YOUTH GOLF LEAGUE - Meets every Wednesday at 1pm June 23rd through August 18th. Ages 6 years and older are encouraged to participate. Please call the Golf Pro shop by Tuesday noting your intent to play on Wednesdays. Dress code required. Golfers must have their own clubs - no sharing bags. MEMBER/GUEST GOLF TOURNAMENT– Saturday June 26th at Timber Trials Golf Course. Dinner at 6pm at Lake Naomi Clubhouse. Call for Tee Times.
SWIM LESSONS - Classes run Monday through Thursday for a two week period. Class sizes are limited and pre-registration is required. Group swim lessons are included in the pool membership at no extra charge. Stop by or call the Community Center to register. “WELCOME BACK” COMMUNITY COOKOUT - Held at Club Beach from 5:30 - 7:30pm on Tuesday, June 29th. This cookout will feature games and activities for children of all ages. INTERNATIONAL FOLK DANCING - Beginning July 1st, Club Member Andy Montano will be offering folk dancing every Thursday at the Community Center starting at 11am. The cost is $12 per person for a four week session. Please sign up at the Community Center. 4th OF JULY SAILING REGATTA Saturday, July 3rd at 10:30am and Sunday July 4th at 12:45pm, held at Club Beach. Call the Sailing Office at 646LAKE for more information on this event. TENNIS JUNIOR JAMBOREE - will be held on Saturday, July 3rd from 5:30-7pm for ages 7-17. Come out for fun and contests. No signup or charge for this event. 1
20th ANNUAL BASS TOURNAMENT Saturday, July 3rd from 6am– 12pm at Club Beach. Register at the Admin Office by Saturday, June 28th. The two age categories are Junior (15 and under) and Adult (16+). Tournament rules are available upon registration. The tournament will be confined to Lake Naomi only. All fish must be released alive. An awards reception will follow at 1pm at the Lake Naomi Clubhouse. WIMBELDON STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM - Held at the Lake Naomi Tennis Center from 2-4pm on Saturday, July 3rd. Mixed Doubles Round Robin Format. Preregistration at Tennis Pro Shop required. Social after play includes strawberries, shortbread, cookies, champagne, juice and soda. Cost is $16 per Gold Member and $21 per Silver Member. Deadline to sign up is June 30th at 3pm. 27TH ANNUAL INDEPENDENCE DAY PICNIC - Sunday, July 4th enjoy music by Long Time Comin’ and activities for everyone. The picnic will be held at Club Beach from Noon-6pm. This is a Lake Naomi-Timber Trails tradition, the largest social event of the year.
