I wish Lake Ann could fit in my pocket so I could take it everywhere I go! -Camper

WHY LAKE ANN CAMP? For over 60 years, we’ve been impacting the lives of young people for Christ. Those who have spent time at Lake Ann understand why so many call it, “the best week of your life.” How can we so confidently offer a money back guarantee if you don’t have an absolute blast? It’s because we believe Lake Ann Camp is the finest investment you can make for your child this summer. Every day is action-packed from sun up until lights out. Our food is incredible, our counselors rock, and our campus, tucked away in the forests of Northern Michigan, is absolutely beautiful. But the biggest reason why campers can’t get enough of Lake Ann --- purpose.

1

IMPACT

At the heart of our ministry is a desire to positively impact the lives of young people for Christ. Every fun activity campers participate in has been carefully designed with this in mind. We’re excited to partner with you in developing spiritually, physically, and socially healthy children for generations to come.

2

SINCE 1948

If the old White Pine trees on our grounds could talk, they’d have deep stories of joy and transformation to tell. They would tell you that at one time our facilities were tents, our staff full of volunteers, and the idea of over 10,000 annual campers was only a dream. But today, we are incredibly blessed to tell you Lake Ann is bigger, better, and truer to its roots than ever before.

3

PASSIONATE STAFF

We know that every camper is a parent’s mosr valuable possession and it takes a level of maturity to lead those campers through a variety of positive camp experiences. That’s one of the reasons why our rigorous counselor interview process is unmatched. It communicates to prospective councelors the seriousness of their duties, and ensures that they know camp is about the camper, not necessarily for the ease or enjoyment of the staff.

IMPACTING LIVES AROUND THE COUNTRY

FACILITIES Our facilities set the stage for what takes place at camp. Campers often connect special memories or decisions made to specific areas on our grounds. We’ve strived to preserve the essence of camp while creating an atmosphere without distractions.

+ RED CANOE

The Red Canoe is the indoor hangout, camp apparel shop, and snack bar for campers. Step inside it’s doors and you’re likely to see a fierce game of fooseball, a counselor connecting with a camper, and plenty of Jones Soda.

YUMM! It’s summer break, right? So we think it is time for an upgrade from the food served at your local school. Here, the cinnamon rolls are made from scratch, the pizza tossed by hand and always baked fresh.

+ CHEFY

Brent Swensen, better known as “Chefy” to campers, is Lake Ann’s Food Service Director. He and his staff prepare hand made meals for campers at breakfast, lunch and dinner in our amazing dining hall.

+ DELICIOUS

There are two sayings we live by at Lake Ann, “Absolutley no one goes hungry” and “There’s more through the door.” So feel free to help yourself to seconds!

AGE SPECIFIC PROGRAMS A fourth grader and a senior high student have little in common. They face different challenges, hold different interests, and are at different places in their walks with God. Accordingly, our programs are divided by age, so campers spend ALL WEEK with their peers. This ensures that every activity is fun and relevant to what matters to them. Our youngest campers enjoy time at the Acorn Acres petting zoo, campers entering high school enjoy a three-day rafting trip, while our oldest campers experience Lake Ann’s state-of-the-art High Adventure activities.

Junior camp is designed for campers entering 4th and 5th grade who are ready for a week they will never forget. Juniors can rest assured there is plenty to do at camp in a safe, inviting setting. Create awesome artwork at Handicraft, pet the animals at the Acorn Acres barn, and try your skills at our archery range. But we do warn of one thing...be prepared to get wet! Our 175-foot waterslide plummets directly into the lake. You can even take an icy dip before breakfast during our polar bear swim. Juniors also have chapel sessions specifically tailored to their age group. Here, speakers help reinforce the teachings of the Bible in a fun, high-energy atmosphere.

YOUTH RETREATS When the beautiful Northern Michigan summer comes to an end, Lake Ann transitions from a summer camp into a retreat center hosting school, church and corporate groups. Nearly every weekend from the onset of autumn to the snowy days of winter, we welcome teens, college students, couples, women, men and seniors to a variety of specially designed Christian retreats.

+ EXILED

Exiled is Lake Ann’s most unique weekend experience designed just for middle school students. You’ll quickly realize you’re no longer in Northern Michigan, but instead in another “place” and “time” in history. It is an awesome opportunity to gain a new appreciation of your freedoms, God’s word, and the excitement that comes with making Christ the center of your life.

+ FREEZE OUT

Freeze Out is just like summer camp at Lake Ann – just a whole lot cooler. This winter retreat is for Junior High and Senior High students. Listen to meaningful messages from your favorite Lake Ann speakers and worship with the Cedarville University’s HeartSong team. While you’re here, don’t forget to go for a ride on the three tubing trails, play in the snow, or warm up in the Red Canoe with a hot chocolate. You may sign up with a friend or with your youth group!

+ THE BREAK

The Break is just that, a break for college students and young professionals over Christmas vacation. Whether it’s your first time at Lake Ann or you’ve been a camper or counselor wanting to get back to camp, this is the weekend for you. Chapel sessions are geared towards current topics in life. This retreat is not “over scheduled” allowing you to relax and truly take a break and start the New Year off right and refreshed!

ADULT RETREATS A place this great shouldn’t be isolated to any age, gender or interest. So whether you are a mom, dad, runner, newlywed or grandparent, YOU are welcome at Lake Ann Camp. We love seeing new, friendly faces singing in the chapel, walking amongst the giant white pines, and reconnecting with God.

+ LADIES RETREAT

Are you longing for an opportunity to take a break from your every day life and meet with the Lord in a special way? If so, you won’t want to miss the Ladies Retreat at Lake Ann Camp in September! We anticipate God will do a mighty work in your heart and life. You will be uplifted, challenged, and encouraged as our speakers shares insights from God’s Word and their own personal lives. We hope you will join us for one of these special weekends of learning, worship, and fellowship!

+ COUPLES RETREAT

+ SENIOR SAINTS

+ 5K TRAIL RUN/WALK

Our Couples Retreat weekends in April are designed to allow husbands and wives to take time to focus on their relationship. Guest speakers teach ways to have a healthy, godly marriage no matter what stage you are at in your life. Whether you are newlyweds or “empty-nesters”, you will have the opportunity to grow closer to God and each other. The weekend includes opportunities to experience a few of our High Adventure activities as well as time to visit the nearby scenic Sleeping Bear Dunes or Traverse City. Sharing an experience at Lake Ann Camp together is something you will always remember.

Beth Moore is a speaker and author of best-selling Bible studies and other books for women. Beth is a woman of purpose, preparation, prayer, and passion. It’s apparent in everything she does, from teaching her weekday class at Houston’s First Baptist Church to speaking to the thousands of women who attend her Living Proof conferences each year. Join us for the viewing of her “Living Proof Live” on the big screen in September.

+ MEN’S RETREAT

Lake Ann Camp has an opportunity for men to be encouraged to live as God has called them to live. This weekend in late April is filled with all the great “guy stuff” you wish you had more time for. Annual activities include great Chapel services, Archery Tag, fishing, .22 Shoot, a golf tournament, disc golf, and of course, plenty of great food. This year’s theme is the Legacy of a Life Well Lived featuring legendary speaker Ken Rudolph and his sons. We expect this will be the best Men’s Retreat yet!

Come enjoy Northern Michigan in October, one of the most beautiful times of the year. Color Tours, both on camp and off-site will remind you of the creativity of our God. Eat delicious meals, play games, and gather with new and old friends in the Dining Hall and Red Canoe. This three-day retreat will give you the renewal you need through great messages, worship, and fellowship.

Every year, campers are impacted in the midst of God’s beautiful creation. The 5K Trail Run/Walk helps raise funds that continue to improve the Outdoor Experience at Lake Ann Camp. Take this opportunity to enjoy our 320 acres in May.
