Design

ATB Financial Bank Competetion This project required us to design a “Bank of the Future� for ATB to judge. Using Sketchup for modeling and AutoCAD for the drawings, the project tested our design abilities and to think outside the box. The concept word for the bank i designed was Fluidity, which intergrates with the flow of the buildings exterior design.


Renderings of the bank The renderings i have included were first produced with IRender, and then using Photoshop i was able to add and create a realistic feeling to the renderings.


NAIT Dormitory Project Drawings The drawings for the Dormitory project were created using AutoCAD. The Dormitory was designed using our own interpritation of what a multi-unit residential building could look like, relating to NAIT and the surrounding area

MAIN FLOOR PLAN

I have chosen the word connectivity as i see campus life and school life being connected. With this word or “concept� it provides me with many avenues to branch out and find many non literal design factors and inspirations, instead of being tied down to one single idea. Connectivity can be seen in many different views, from a computer being connected to the internet or someone smiling and saying hello in the morning. There is a connection between Westwood and NAIT, as they are close together but also are beneficial to each other. To be able to bring some of what westwood has to offer and combine it with a living space for students attending NAIT, i feel the word i have chosen is a great start to something big.

SECOND FLOOR PLAN


Hand Renderings Using drafting techniques that were learned, we created hand drawn elevations and colored them using other techniques. The renderings give an artistic feel to the building.


Revit Renderings Using Revit, we were able to create beautiful renderings by having a wide range of online resources for external components, and in program components.

The floorplan on the left is my Residential Elective floorplan, which is a one story bungalow with a walkout basement. The design incorperates an open flow through the house with many exciting features. The floorplan on the right is the first floorplan that was created by me as a student which is also a residental building.
