potvoler Potvoler is an assistive devices that make you use the pot to cook easier. It can fit most of the types of pot by adjusting the high of the bottom part. And it has two main functions. First, there is a groove on the top, so you can control the pot easier by keeping your thumb on the groove, when you are quick sauting the food. Second, when you finish a dish you can turn the pot easier by pressing the cross bar to let the dish slip into the plate. As the result, by using potvoter, you can cook more elegant and effort-saving

When we are cooking, it is hard for children or people with small strength to saute the food. For them, it is too hard to shake the pot and control its direction at the same time. And so as to put the food into the dish, it takes lots of strength when you hold up the pot with just one hand. So I started to observe and interview some cooks in the Chinese restaurant, where the cooks need to saute the food in most of the time. Try to figure out where would hurt in the long term and how they use the pot. 16

You can find many types of pot i n t h e r e sta u ra n t s , h o w e v e r, when it goes to saute the food, the cooks usually choose the Chinese pot. But there are still hundreds of different Chinese pots you can find on t h e i n t e r n e t . H o w e v e r, m o st of the restaurant will buy the first type of the pot. Although, its handle is not fit the human factor engineering, but it is cheep. Because, when you need to saute the food all the day, the pots will be broken quickly. Therefore, to save the money, the restaurants usually choose the first one. And the other three types of Chinese pots can be seen usually in the general family.

Aboat Structuralism

Structuralism is to figure out the relationship between the object.

Structuralism is the name that is given to a wide range of discourses that study underlying structures of signification. Structuralism in Europe developed in the early 1900s, in the structural linguistics of Ferdinand de Saussure and the subsequent Prague , Moscow and Copenhagen schools of linguistics.

Design Concept OKnife & Broad are a set of k n i fe a n d c h o p p i n g b oa rd t h at d e s i g n fo r t h e e l d e r. T h e k n i fe and chopping broad were designed through collecting datas of the human body and times of experiments . In this way we had made them used more comfortable and energ y efficient. As the result, elder can cook easier or have more will to cook , and their family can feel more relaxed when the elders are cutting the food.

Knife Introduction

40 According to the research, the tool with 19 degrees of the handle, can makes you use it more comfortable. Because, when you hold the handle in this way, there will be less pressure on your wrist, therefore you feel more comfortable.

19 42

OKnife & Broad

We made the top of the handle more flat and wide, so users can put their forefingers on the handle more comfortable and easier to control the knife at the same time.

41

We designed the knife with knobs on both of the different sides of the handle, so you can put your thumb on it to control the knife easier and hold it more comfortable.

43

Product Design 03

Chopping Broad Introduction

42

44

To let the elders move the food into the wash basket from the chopping broad faster and more convenient, we added the handles on the board. Therefore, they can move the food without the knife or hand, instead, they can pour the food directly after cutting them.

OKnife & Broad

The big handles make sure that the elders can hold it tightly, prevent from the hands shaking.

43 Pull up the handles to pour the food quickly and safely.

45

Product Design 02

Problem Definition I t i s m o re d i f f i c u l t fo r e l d e r s to c u t t h e fo o d , because of their slow moving and less strength. And when you cut the food with the normal knife, it will hurt your wrist and the muscle of the hand in the long term, let alone the elder. In addition, when finish the cutting, you have to move the food into the wash basket to be the food. To the elder, it usually cost them lots of time when they move the food with the knife or hand. Therefore, we decided to design a set of knife and chopping broad to make them engage in these things easier, safer and more comfortable.

Design Concept We designed TreaTa as an entertaining treatment aid, by combining daily interaction with behavioral therapies. We hope parents and children do not consider it’s a treatment but an activity that not only entertains themselves but also brings their relationship closer. While designing the product, the interaction between them is the most important thing. Behavioral therapy

We relaxes parents by children pounding their back, and give them a reason to praise their kids; in the meantime, we turn the treatment into a musical game for children, t h e y c a n t ra i n t h e i r a u d i t o r y a tt e n t i o n while having a better interaction with their parents.

With the laser printing technolog y, we printed some simple cute elements on the vest to improve the quality and make it lively.

T h e s p r i n g i n t h e b u tto n increases the tactile feedback while hitting it.

TreaTa is designed to be simple, cute and loved by children.

We use the color contrast between red and blue to create a competitive game atmosphere.

Problem DeďŹ nition In Taiwan, about 6% of children suffer from ADHD, which can lead to a negative influence on children, such as bad learning quality or miserable interpersonal relationship. A s to associated therapies, long-term analyses suggest that behavioral treatment provides additional benefits beyond medication alone. However, behavioral treatment always puts much burden on both parents and children d u e to i ts l o n g t reat i n g t i m e . A s a re s u l t , w e a i m at designing a product which can help the family with ADHD children get through this hardship during treatment.

Research

Type of ADHD

After learning knowledge about ADHD and inter viewing with doctors, we choose several aspects to develop our product which can do more such as gamification and parent-child interaction, hoping to increase the motivation of behavioral therapy.

Cause of ADHD The main causes of ADHD are abnormal function of anterior lobe of cerebral cortex. It effects the secretion of dopamine and adrenaline, and exceptional secretion volume can cause ner ve conduction information abnormality.

ADHD is divided into three subtypes: predominantly inattentive , predominantly hyperactive-impulsive , and combined type .

Behavioral therapy studies Tr a i n i n g c h i l d ‘ s c o n c e n t r a t i o n i s beneficial to the development of prefrontal lobe.

Games can also enhance sensor y integration ability.

Sensor y integration ability can be trained while doing exercise, including strenuous movemen ts an d accu rate movements.

Healthy physical fitness is also the basis for childrens potential de velopment and intellectual development. 67

In addition, I hided three objects that usually appear in the fairy tale in the logo. They were crown, fairy, and unicorn, respectively.

Sometimes, the design seems to be simple on

This manual was designed for freshman camp in 2016, when I was the Design apartment leader of the camp. T h e wh i t e c i rc l e o n the back cover meant the tail of the rabbit, and it was a metaphor of the end at the same time. Although the theme was f a i r y t a l e, h o w e v e r i t a l s o meant endless possibilities.
