Cove Cherry Farm & Flowers The Farm is located one mile East of the Cove Grange Hall, At the top of Lantz Lane. On the Right side (South) of the Intersection Of Lantz and Stackland. Owned & Operated By Margie & Brian Lemke, Long time residents of Union County. It’s a Three Acre Reineer Cherry Orchard with a creek (Warm Creek) flowing through it. Margie is a florist who makes one of a kind flower basket arrangments. We also have filberts, plums, apples, pears, blackberries, and hopes for hops. 2016 was a great cherry crop and we are hoping for a repeat in 2017. Also Excited to have flowering Hops this coming fall. There are several scenic areas with views of Mt. Fanny for photo opportunity’s such as senior photos, or wedding groups. We also enjoy viewing pheasant, quail, turkey, LOTS of deer and elk, and an occasional fox, so bring your camera. We plan to be open to the public most weekends and on the week-days by appointment, depending on interest. The Cherries are coming in late June-End of July, Apples and Plums mid August through October depending on frost. Hops and Filberts (Hazelnut) are ready in October. Wildlife viewing is year round.

The river is currently high and will be difficult to fish throughout the spring as runoff keeps the river high and off color. Look for bass fishing to pick up in July when flows drop. Trout fishing can also be good during the spring if flows allow. IMNAHA Steelhead season is closed on the Imnaha River. The river is currently high and will be difficult to fish throughout the spring as runoff keeps the river high and off color. Look for bass fishing to pick up in July when flows drop. Trout fishing can also be good during the spring if flows allow. Managers will be monitoring the spring Chinook run as they make their way up the Columbia and Snake rivers. As the run progresses the biologists will assess spring chinook opportunities on the Imnaha River. JOHN DAY RIVER: : wild steelhead Recent above freezing temperatures have opened up the majority of the river for fishing access. The North Fork is still iced over but mainstem flows have dropped and water clarity is improving. River edge and free floating ice are still present in most sections of the river. The majority of steelhead are scattered from the mouth up to Kimberly. Most John Day steelhead are wild and must be released without removal from the water. There are however some hatchery steelhead strays in the river and anglers are encouraged to keep up to three hatchery fish per day. Fish are being caught on flies, jigs, lures and bait. PEACH POND (Ladd Marsh): rainbow trout The pond was stocked with pounder and legal-sized rainbow trout mid-October. ROULET POND: The pond has been stocked with pounder and legal-size rainbow trout. TAYLOR GREEN POND: hatchery rainbow trout Taylor Green Pond was stocked with 150 one pound rainbow trout the last week of September. Fishing is good. From Hwy. 203 at Union, turn left staying on Hwy. 203 towards Medical Springs. At the summit between Union and Medical Springs, turn left onto USFS Road 7700 (opposite snowpark area). Proceed East on 7700 road for about 9 miles to USFS Road 7740 on the right. Proceed on the 7740 road for about 1/4 mile. The rock pit pond are on the right.
