The Farinera Sant Lluís is an emblematic, historical site located in the municipality of Pont de Molins, in the north of the Costa Brava and about 20 km from the French border. The majestic building overlooking the property was built in the early 20th century at the behest of Teresa Pallejà of Barcelona who, in 1913, converted the Borràs Mill, as it was formerly known, into a grand mechanised flour mill which was much faster and more efficient than the old stone mill. It bears a great resemblance to the Farinera de Sant Jaume, an old flour mill located in the Clot neighbourhood of Barcelona. Until well into the sixties the Farinera Sant Lluís was a meeting point for the local farmers, who would bring their grain for milling, as well as for the area’s young people, who would gather there to celebrate parties, informal suppers, get-togethers and so on.

After the hardships of the post-war years, in the early eighties the Farinera took on new life thanks to a local businessman who purchased it so as to turn it into a luxurious residence. But the refurbishment never came to pass and the property was boarded up for 30 years. Today, the property, spanning over 130 hectares, has been painstakingly redone, restoring the Farinera - a modernist building listed by the Catalan government for its architectural interest - to its former glory. Preserving all its artistic value, it has been converted into a unique and exclusive venue for events, celebrations and filming, where every nook and cranny has been charmingly and meticulously decorated.
