FAITHFULNESS

GOD PERSONIFIES FAITHFULNESS. His word is true forever. His love is forever. There isn’t anything we can do to keep us from his love. As children of God, our faithfulness journey is to start with being faithful to God. When we are faithful to God in all things in our heart and mind, the rest of our life is set in order. So the definition of faithfulness is God’s faithfulness to us and our faithfulness to Him. As we study the scriptures about faithfulness it is important to realize that God is our example for daily living. He is our role model and mentor for life. Yes, he is perfect in all ways. His standard is perfection. His example for us is achievable only through his son. He understood this a long time ago when he sent his son to save us from our sins. He also sent us a helper to guide us along our path. So when our journey in life gets difficult, we should not get discouraged. We should stay on our faithful path, because we have an understanding God who loves us very very much.

WONDERFUL October OCTOBER IS A WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR. It marks the beginning of a new season. When I think of October, I think of cleaning places in my house that I haven’t cleaned since last October. I look through recipes for exciting fall meals and desserts to prepare for my family. I begin to shop for special holiday gifts. I begin to plan for parties, family gatherings and church activities. In short, October is a month of anticipation and action. The promises that October brings are both wonderful and exciting. It is comforting to know that God is always faithful to His promises. Many years ago, people did not live the way we do now. They were in pain. They were enslaved. They were filled with sorrow and were in deep need of a savior. They cried out for a king, a redeemer. They wanted a warrior to fight their battles. They wanted to be free from their pain and sorrow. 46

They knew God heard their prayers. They knew God would answer their prayers. It was foretold in the Old Testament how it would happen. They just did not know when. So they waited. They watched. They listened. They waited with the same faith we have that our seasons will change and our holidays will come. Instead of waiting in anguish, as believers we wait with joy because we have already received His gift, Our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. But some have not seen Him yet, and are still enslaved by sorrow. So as we enjoy our beautiful October, let us remember to be available to speak the truth with love in our heart when we are called to do so. This gift we have is meant to share. So when the wind blows this October, and when you see a leaf fall, say a prayer that joy and peace will spread throughout the Lowcountry this fall.
