ometimes you just have to get away from it all. When that desire becomes a siren call to find a retreat away from the hustle of city and suburban life, Eric Merchant is ready to help. Merchant has 28 years of experience with all types of real estate – residential, commercial and land – and his extensive experience with land development and rural land management gives him an edge when it comes to finding rural property for hunting, fishing, recreation or investment purposes. Merchant’s expertise extends to pond or lake construction, stocking and fisheries management, wildlife management, and timber stand management. “In short, if it has to do with real estate in Missouri, I can handle it and handle it well,” he says. An agent with Trophy Properties, Merchant has three goals every day: “Show up, try not to screw up, and put others before ourselves.” Helping meet those goals are Tammy Eigenman, Serena Huntebrinker, Dexter Keuss April Sweeso and Steve Bish – and the team has a combined 50 years of experience. “This approach has been getting us excellent results for almost three decades, and a steady stream of repeat clients,” he notes. Merchant doesn’t just sell real estate, he invests in it himself, giving him a unique perspective and understanding of clients’ positions. “We have

residential investment property, industrial properties, retail commercial properties and agricultural/recreational investment properties,” he says. “Because we’ve been managing these properties for many years, we’ve had to deal with the day-to-day issues that arise with any such ownership. This gives us a keen eye and awareness of many of the issues, problems and pitfalls associated with various properties.” Problem-solving and service after closing are points of pride for Merchant. Clients often stay in touch long after a sale is complete, and Merchant gladly assists with maintenance and emergency situations. He says this ongoing commitment is simply another sign of his team’s determination to give every client the best service possible. In fact, Merchant credits his coworkers with much of the team’s continued success. “I’ve always hired from within, and this gave me the opportunity to observe the team’s work ethic. They are outstanding, loyal and very hard working.” And they share Merchant’s outlook on the business: “I love what I do, and I take it very seriously,” he says. “I work long hours almost every day. I don’t have to – I want to. It’s the right thing to do.” Photos above are of active listings belonging to UC Trophy Properties & Auction. For details, call Eric Merchant at 314-541-1218.
