nterior designer Victoria Dreste of Victoria Dreste Designs has spent a few years working with her client as the house was being built, so Dreste knew exactly what the homeowner had in mind. “We worked on this big, open area that’s both a family room and a breakfast area,” Dreste says. “The client likes color, so we used the strong colors in the furnishings rather than the walls. It’s a light – yet colorful – space.” It was important to the client to have comfortable, good-looking furniture, so the designer integrated a comfy sofa, chairs and an upholstered bench. The table and bench were refurbished, which “worked beautifully in the space.” Since the space was planned before the home was built, Dreste says she didn’t really have any challenges working with the space. “The client put a lot of thought into what she wanted in her new space,” Dreste says. “It was done in such a way that it works great as a multi-purpose room.”
